In July '98 my third offspring, Michelle Kathleen, headed to Alaska on a nursing adventure.  I was lucky to be able to travel up the Alaska Highway with her.  We had a fun trip. On my return I stopped in the Kluane National Park in the Yukon Territory and hiked up the Slims West Trail in the Slims River Valley to try to get a look at the Kaskawulsh Glacier.
In June, 2000 Patrice wanted to do some hiking and didn't have time for a trip to the Rocky mountains. We went into Riding Mountain National Park for four days. It was different from any other hiking we've done. Very flat in comparison.  But it was not busy and quite pleasant. Patrice is loading up at the trailhead for the Tilson Lake Trail.
In 1996 I had just moved from Winnipeg to Red Deer, Alberta.  Patrice came to visit and we did some hiking in the David Thompson area.  This is at the trailhead for the hike up Abraham Mountain just across the highway from Nordegg townsite.
In July, 2000 I returned to the Fryatt Valley in Jasper National Park.  I had been unable to get into the upper valley in '98.  This time I did.  It was an outstanding trek.  This is from a bridge between Lower Fryatt and Brussels campgrounds.
