The History In 1996, I officialy founded Martin's Light Shows in my basement. With only a couple Playskool Flashlights and a few strings of Christmas Lights, I began putting on shows at only 10 years old. The original light show was only this, a few songs off the old "Heart" tapes, and a basement with my family wathcing. I would blink off and on the Christmas Lights while spinning my flashlights on the ceiling to the beat of the music and to the probably bored eyes of my viewers. The Light Show would begin to grow from this point on. Later in the year, I would begin to have same aged friends and family wanting to help produce the light show with me. The lights of the light show would grow as well. The Playskool lights would change into light fixtures with colored light bulbs and disco balls would find their ways up to the cieling before the eyes of my spectators. The show would continue to grow... The Show Today Today the show has greatly evolved from what it started out as. My dad and I have come to build a few control boxes for the lights as well as a stage for the show. The show now incorporates the use of fog machines, bubble machines, and even confetti explosions! as well as many other advanced lights. The show has had hundreds of spectators from parties at our house (we have traveled but only a couple times) and is popular among all of our relatives. Every time we have a party, guests anticipate seeing a spectacular light show! This created all the more challenge for us to keep up with the incredible reputation created over the years. Today the light show has 5 members who participate in creating the show: Chris (me), Andy, Brian, Frank, and Dan. Though things have changed in almost all aspects from the oringinal show, one thing always has stayed the same: Set up the lights, turn up the music, and knock 'em dead. |
