The world of Western Kansas on the airwaves.

About 6 years ago, I came across a device that could scan over preprogrammed channels and listen in on just about anything within it's range. It fascinated me. I swore I would one day get one. I finally did, and today, I never leave home without one.

I started off with an archaic Uniden Bearcat BC60XLT, which had only 10 channels, no search feature, no air bands, and had a 2-digit LCD for output, aside from the speaker. It was loud as hell though, and it still works perfectly to this day. I upgraded after about 2 years to a Radio Shack Pro-76. This had 200 channels, air bands, and a bank setup. It also had the searching feature, which proved very interesting a couple of times. I wanted more though.

Thus, I am on my current setup. A own and faithfully operate a Radio Shack Pro-95. 1000 channels of dual-trunking bliss. I have taken this thing everywhere with me. It has seen action not only all over the state of Kansas, but as well as in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and even Florida. I am so involved with this one, that I have made a basic programming cable for it and I routinely program it from my PC with information pulled off the Internet. And that information is why I am presenting this page.

Below are links to various sections of my "archive" if you will. I have most of it on hardcopy on top of what's in the scanner, just in case (it's also a good reference while on the road). It is a compilation of what I have found on the Internet and what I have verified or found in real life. Enjoy, and if you have any questions, submissions, corrections, or updates, please Email me with them.
