El Hombre likes movies. But only good movies. El Hombre doesn't say best movie of the year unless it is the best movie of the year. The movie studios will try to get El Hombre to lighten up on the crappy movies, but he won't. No amount of money and no amount of threats will keep El Hombre from bringing you the most honest movie reviews. And we hope to have guest reviewers at times, since El Hombre can't see every movie. El Hombre doesn't want to see every movie. So check in every now and then and read about some of the best, and some of the worst, movies around.
The Naked Movie Reviewer
In protest of gratuitous nudity in movies, The Naked Movie Reviewer will review 1974's "CHARLEY VARRICK", the best movie of which you've never heard, in the nude.
Walter Matthau plays Charley Varrick, an ex-cropduster and stunt plane performer who turns to a life of crime. Varrick, together with an old girlfriend and a scumbag small-time hood acquaintance, decide to rob a bank in the small town of Tres Cruces, New Mexico, and unknowingly steal $750,000 of the Las Vegas mob's money.
You'll find yourself rooting for Varrick within 15-20 minutes as his former life is revealed. Soon the mob, his sleaze-ball partner, and the cops are after Varrick and his money.
They don't make movies like this anymore. The Naked Movie Reviewer liked the writing, characters, acting, and action. And most important, there was no gratuitous nudity.
The Naked Movie Reviewer is going to recommend this for El Hombre's "Best Movies" list. You also should check out 1974's "The Front Page", which stars Matthau with Jack Lemmon and Carol Burnett.
Until movie studios remove gratuitous nude scenes from all movies, The Naked Movie Reviewer will review all films in the nude.
