I've heard many people say that they are going to heaven. Many people from many different walks of life. These people go to different churches, synagogues and temples. Some don't even attend any "religious" gatherings. So what is the common factor between all of them. The one thing that ties them together so that they all will end up in the same place? Could it be God?
Lets look at some scripture, and find out what the bible says about heaven and how to get there. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave his only son that who ever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." This scripture tells us that God made a way for us to have eternal life or in essence become immortal just by believing in His son. Acts 2:21 says that who ever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. And who is the Lord? None other than Jesus the Christ. We have to call upon His name to save us from the sin we are under. See we have to accept the grace that God has freely given us in His son Jesus. Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the life no man comes to the Father but by me. " (John 14:6) So how do we come to the father? Only by His grace, and accepting the free gift that is Jesus Christ. Romans 5:20 says "where sin abounds grace abounds much more!" Do you know what that means for us? See we live in God's grace so that in our weakness He can be made strong. And when sin is all around us and we are surrounded on every side, God's grace is much stronger than it has ever been in our lives. Then we are stronger than we've ever been too. God loves us so much that He made a way for us to get out of our sin and enter in to His rest. Take that opportunity today! Don't wait we are never promised tomorrow.
