| Kukumber is a very powerful, long, level doe standing on a strong set of feet and legs. This is a doe who puts a great deal of milk in the bucket from an udder that is well attached and which has remained high and wide throughout her lactations. We had intended to show her a lot during the 2002 show season, but she went into convulsions due to heat stroke at an early show just before appraisal. She still appraised excellently and produced over 11# of milk on our monthly D.H.I. test only five days later. Since we did not want to risk the loss of a valuable animal by over stressing her, we kept her mainly at home after that. She does not seem to have any lingering problems from this episode so she will probably be shown more during the 2003 season. |
