    Moonlight Masquerade. Over 800 rowdy post-A Level students partying into the morning. What else could it be? Timeline of Andrew's movements and photographs of the Bold and the Beautiful. 

University of Melbourne Science Summer School (Dec. 2000)
    An exciting and exacting programme, the 33 of us (that's 27 gossipy girls, 3 guys and 3 20-ish teachers) spent about 8 days in the university compound, 2 days at a ranch and 2 days on tour around Ballarat and Victoria. Xinying has a blow-by-blow photographic journal somewhere on the net.

Silicon Valley (Dec. 1999)
    Undertaken by a group of rowdy students from a few schools, it was to be a journey to the throbbing heart of the computing industry (and suitably touristy places in between). Palo Alto, Los Angeles, San Francisco.

    Most notable was the aftermath following what seemed like an innocent attempt by the Economic Development Board to encourage young rising talent (that's us!) to contribute to Singapore by working in appropriate sectors. I maintain it was a mistake to sponsor such a lunch- good though it was- and not expect fiery questions from students. The issue of government scholarship bond-breaking was raised and you can guess what happened.
Back in Singapore, Mdm Lee was obliged to send in a full report on the proceedings, and had to explain the kids'" wanton" behaviour, lest these rebellious thoughts develop further.
