The Republican Hate Link

Imagine one of your leaders calling Martin Luther King a communist. . .

Key members of the U.S. government are actively involved in a racial war, even though they spend our tax dollars and preach equality for all. Their war began when the south lost the civil war. This action begat the creation of an organization called The Council for Conservative Citizens (CCC), an organization sworn to return the U.S. to pre-civil war status, with legal slavery and all.

This same organization reports that Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King were just communists out to destroy our Constitution. Their views on interracial marriages are akin to Hitler's dislike of Jews. This bitter pill is even harder to swallow when you discover just how well entrenched in our government this organization is. For example, Senate Majority Leader, Trent Lott (R-MS); Mississippi Gov. Kirk Fordice (R) and Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.) are all members of the CCC. Recently, a member of the House Judiciary committee, Rep. Robert Barr (R-GA), was a keynote speaker at a CCC function.

While a spokesman for Lott said the Senate leader "does not consider himself to be a member of this group and has no firsthand knowledge of the group's views," a member of the CCC tells a different story. Mark Cerr, head of the National Capital branch of the CCC described Lott as an active member who has spoken to the group in the past. In addition, a Gannett News Service story published a month ago described Lott as "a member" of the CCC.

So the question to pose is whether or not these politicians belong to the CCC because of campaign contributions, or by a sworn duty to the beliefs of the organization and what it stands for. Let's take it one step further and pose the question: If they are members -- for any reason, then are they lying to the public to hide their secret? If so, is Trent Lott guilty of lying and therefore worthy of an independant council investigation?

In either case, simply taking money from the CCC is an endorsement of their politics. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, there are no records of direct contributions from the CCC to Trent Lott, Jesse Helms or Robert Barr. While they may still receive contributions from members of the CCC, the lack of organizational contributions removes the belief that the politicians "are just in it for the money" and suggests that their politics are in alignment with CCC beliefs. If this is the case, then the first direct link from the top of our government to the bowels of the hate movement has been established. Should every vote in government by these individuals be challenged?
