Net Marketing is making use of the Internet to provide marketing mileage for a product or company. The Internet can be treated like the fourth medium (traditional media covers radio, print and television) or conversely, as an alternative distribution channel for goods and services.

What are the advantages of Marketing in the Net?
1. Number of people who you can reach (worldwide market)
2. The Internet can provide targeted demographics.
3. Measurability of a marketing activity in terms of visibility and participation.
4. The Internet can give instant credibility.

What are the disadvantages of Marketing in the Net?
1. Internet can changed the way we gather information, but not the way we do Commerce i.e. payment issues, fulfillment & tangible experience

What are its limitations?
1. Limited to those with computer and Internet access only.
2. One product out of millions of other products.

What is the future of Net Marketing?
Since email remains to be the only "killer application", email has been increasingly used to market products or services on the Internet. Beyond spamming, targeted or permission email marketing is slowly finding a niche in the market as it connects products to those who are interested in them.
