The high quality SPC to MP3 conversion Guide

This site is dedicated to those poor schmucks who want to listen to Super Nintendo music on their mp3 player, but don't know how to convert spc to mp3.
With this guide you will be able to convert both .spc and .rsn file to mp3 at the best quality possible (please inform me if you think there is a better way, but i don't think so :p). Here is my emailaddress: mpssoftwareAThotmailDOTcom You must replace the AT and DOT by the correct characters (i don't like spam).

I do not encourage people to share these mp3s on any peer to peer network. They're a waste of precious bandwidth!!!

The guide:

Needed software:
- Winamp 2 or 5
- Snesamp
- LamedropXPd (scroll down on that site)

Install the software:
1. Install Winamp and then install the Snesamp plugin.
2. Unzip LamedropXPd to any folder you want (as long as you can find it :p)

6. Mixing tab AAR: off | Amplification 6.0DB (middle) | Uncheck all other checkboxes

Convert the spc or rsn to wav
10. Open the spc or rsn files you want to convert by dragging and dropping them in the playlist. Make sure the EQ, Shuffle and Repeat are turned off. Then press start and the process will begin. This will take a while...
(After it is done you may want to set the output back to directsound, cause else it will write all your songs to disk that you want to play/listen. So press Ctrl+P and go to click Plug-ins -> output and then click Directsound output (or waveOut))
12. Start LamedropXPd and leave all options as they are perfect by default (Encoding options -> Quality: alt-preset standard). Of course you can use other settings but i heavily recommend you to use alt-preset standard
13. Open the folder where the .wav files are that Winamp outputted
14. Drag n Drop the wav files on LamedropXPd and wait till it's finished. It may take a while
15. You're finished!
If you want you can delete the wav files now as you don't need them anymore
