(Please allow  a little extra time for the photos to load)

My mother,  Marion, was born in 1913.

In the next photo she is the youngster in the center, about 8 - 10, so the photo was taken around 1921-1923 In Onondaga.   Four of the persons are known, but who are the others?

Family in Yard. (2).jpg (90988 bytes)

My mother, Marion, is the little girl in front.

Directly behind her, wearing a hat with flowers on the brim is her mother,  Ida (Taylor) TERRY,  my "Gram".  The tall gentleman to her left wearing the Dutch style cap is her husband  Horace "Walt" TERRY, my Grandfather Terry.

Emma Sayles Vincent TAYLOR, my great- grandmother, is the dowager lady in the very center of the shot.

In 1964, My mother corresponded with her cousin Jasper TERRY. He and his wife kindly assisted Mother in preparing and updating data on the family lineage.   He provided her with some of the photographs that appear next.  Cousin  Jasper, or  "Jap" was the son of Charles Clark  and Eleanor (Blackmore) TERRY.  I have others that I will be adding to the site as time allows.

Can you identify this couple?    George H -  father of  Charles H. TERRY

Jap also sent the next one. I am including it here in hopes that someone will be able to identify who this couple is.  Since Jap sent it to Mother, the people are TERRY-related in some way...possibly one of their parents? All these TERRYS came from the Batavia, New York area.

Could this couple have been Blackmore?  Terry?  Leach?  or...?

Taken in 1922.  Three generations! Here is my mother Marion in the middle with her Mom and Dad and her  Grandpa George W Terry (her father's father and owner of the auto.)

As their wedding dowry, George TAYLOR gave each of his two  daughters -- Ida and Nettie-- a completely stocked farm, complete with  house, barn, and livestock.   They  lived in Onondaga until Grandma moved "into town" to Eaton Rapids in 1927 so my mother could go to high school.   Gram  later bought the house across from the fair grounds in Charlotte, the first home I remember.

George TAYLOR also owned the land where the Eaton Rapids VFW is today.   He is the person that  Durant mentions in History of Ingham Co.  as he speaks of Kinneyville,  "and a saw-mill, axe- handle- and-shingle factory, immediately below, is the property of George TAYLOR."

George TAYLOR also built this house located at the junction of the Kinneyville-Onondaga Roads.  I was in the area in 1991 and it is still standing and in good condition. Various family members made their home here over the years

So, that's all for this time!   I will be adding others as time allows, so come back again, please!
