Many of my  Michigan ancestors came from New York and Canada to reside in the "new territory" of  Michigan before it became a state in 1837.     This study is devoted to my  family surnames of:

During WW2, we lived on Forest Avenue  in Lansing.  I went to Maplewood Elementary School and  Walter French Jr. High School before we moved to Florida in 1948.

A click below will  take you to my new site featuring my Vincent and Shimmel kinsman and allied families  who came  from Jefferson Co., New York  to St. Joseph County, Michigan. Some were Pioneer settlers of Michigan.    There are now over 700 names in this data base.

    ....and finally, the Arbour  side of my  family  tree!  Doing research for this study produced many Canadian and Michigan cousins I never knew I had! And one is writing a book about the Arbour family, soon to be released for publication.  We have a marvelous French- Canadian heritage!
