Your Commitment
The War Department (Lance) has taken on the awesome responsibility of organizing and coordinating his version of a Civil War RPG. We must remember that our part in this war is to assist him to the best of our abilities. The following rules have been devised to best aid him in making this game an enjoyable and learning experience for all.
The turns
Each turn will begin with a dispatch from the War Department indicating the time and the circumstances concerning your command. At this time orders may be requested. Preparation of orders will be discussed later. The commander will then draw up his orders and submit them to the appropriate superiors. The War Department will then receive these orders and organize them in conjunction with the other orders from the army. When all of the orders have been received Secretary Cameron will reply. Let it be known that there are times when the burden of this war upon the War Department is overwhelming. The pace at which this war is fought will depend solely upon the time that Secretary Walker has to devote to it. Your patience with this matter will be greatly appreciated. We are all volunteers in this army and we must remember that the greatest responsibility rests upon the shoulders of the authorities in Richmond.
War Department
President Jefferson Davis has nominated the honorable Leroy Walker to the cabinet post of Secretary of War. All information and reports will originate from his office in the War Department. A telegraph office is located at the Department - (law10c@yahoo.com) - to handle any necessary correspondence between the army in the field and Richmond.
Communications
Open communications between division and brigade commanders is the life line of the army. Your division commander should be notified immediately upon the receiving of any information concerning the enemy or changes to your command’s order of battle. It is the responsibility of the division commander to then notify the corps commander.
It is inevitable that there will be quiet times in this war. These can happen for a number of reasons. We all have other responsibilities to take care of before we can enjoy this RPG. We have enlisted in this army for the duration of the war. The War Department must deal with a large volume of information at times plus his own normal schedule. Please be Patient! Use these times wisely. Communicate with other commanders concerning strategy or just on a personal level. You will receive your information when it is ready. If for any reason you must resign from the army it is only proper that you notify your division commander so appropriate arrangements may be made for the temporary command of your brigade. Your courtesy concerning this matter would be greatly appreciated.
