A FALL TO THE LUKESIDE

by Edith

Luke landed and rolled taking the brunt of the fall easily as he
ended up on his back. Mara had turned for a moment, taken a
couple steps and then headed back, walked by Luke's prone
body, waiting for him to get back up so they could continue this
exercise.

Luke's hand - the bionic one - snaked out and grabbed Mara's
left ankle as she passed. She stopped. He held on firmly but
gently. Mara gazed down at him and raised an eyebrow.

* What are you doing? *

"Let go of my ankle," Mara said to him. Luke looked up at her
smiling slightly, a `no' evident in his face. She knew that his hand
had super-human strength, as well as being an appendage
attached to a Jedi Master.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"If you want me to let go, come down here and convince me," he
challenged her as he beckoned her with his hand. His opponent
was too far away, wisps of her red-gold hair escaping from her
hair pulled back into a long braid, and her jade eyes were
quizzical as she remained standing up above him.

She placed her right foot on his other side so she was standing
straight over him and bent down over him. She tried her patented
glare but he still calmly gazed up at her with a neutral
expression, waiting for her to make the next move.

"And why would I do that? Are you tired?"

"Not in the least," Luke assured her.

"Hmmmm," Mara purred. "You want me to come down here?"
She hunched down lower and contemplated his slightly mussed
hair, and light sheen of sweat on his forehead. He kept looking
up at her with a pleased glint in his soft blue eyes. She
straightened and placed her light soled boot on Luke's solar
plexus, her toes covering his heart area.

"That was the idea," he said as his other hand now came up and
took hold of her right foot resting on his chest. Mara twiggled it
but he kept hold. Was she trapped? She lunged forward
suddenly trying to wrench the other foot, but it didn't budge. Still
her strategy paid off. She next threw herself off balance to the
right, so she had to put out her hand. As she had predicted, Luke
let go of both feet so she wouldn't hurt herself and could catch
her fall. She had planned on adjusting and rolling into
somersault but she hadn't counted on Luke reaching out to grab
her nor how he used the Force to twist her around and land her
exactly upon his chest. Stang! How had he done that? With her
barriers so high up? Luke smiled as she settled onto him.

"So now you have me where you want me," Mara purred at him,
smiling down at him sweetly as she lay upon him.

"Yeah," Luke said self-satisfied.

"Are you sure?" she asked. "I think that was in improper use of
the Force," she commented.

"I don't," Luke answered, "It brought you closer to me." He ran his
fingers lightly up and down her spine, caressing the curve in the
small of her back.

Mara reached forward and wound her arms around the Jedi
Master's neck.

"You're right, this is so much more comfortable," she murmured,
moving up so she could rub her chest against his. She pressed
down and gave him a big, sensous kiss, and started to twist to
the side, so she could move under him. In doing so, she wound
her legs carefully around his.

Luke responded warmly to Mara's kiss and turned over with her
til he was on top. However, when she drew away and smiled
wickedly up at him, he realized he hadn't been paying attention to
how she had positioned her legs. She easily flipped him back
over and into a classic wrestling hold position.

"Luke Skywalker, you can't let your guard down just because a
woman comes onto you! I don't know what I'm going to do with
you!" Mara said into his ear.

"I wanted to see what you'd do, and it was worth it for your kiss,"
Luke said, and drew in his breath as Mara tightened her hold on
him and then about 20 seconds later let go. She sat on her
heels and looked at him with narrowed eyes.

"Let's do some more real training, what do you say?" She offered
and shot up to her feet.

"You're on," Luke agreed, bounding up to his feet, into a ready
stance.

They continued training until they were ready to call it a day.

"You're the most challenging training partner I've ever had," Luke
told her as they lay on the floor, his hand holding hers, her head
in his lap. "I never have this much fun with anyone else."

"You're pretty fun yourself," Mara commented. She tapped lightly
him in the ribs.

"Ummm hmmm," Luke said as he brought that hand to his
mouth and kissed her knuckles. "And the only one I can
continue exercising with after the workout."

"I need a shower," Mara said, smiling.

"Me too," Luke said, smiling too.
