Paff video claims deflated by police

Commentary (all in red):

Jack Paff told a private joke about the police force to another policeman at a government party in 1998. This private joke was referred to the Criminal Justice Commission and is the basis of this trumped up article by Murdoch's lackeys at The Courier-Mail.

You will note in the story that the basis of the joke becomes a "whopper" then becomes a "torture allegation". This is conspiracy theory stuff aimed at denigrating a publicly elected Member of Parlaiment because the corrupt media barons who would try to run this country are threatened by a public representative who is only now beginning to expose the undemocratic nature of media polarisation in Australia.

If you want a real story visit the "Shreddergate" pages - one that is too hot for The Courier-Mail to discuss - because it implicates their mates the Laboral factions (Labor and the Coalition).

Michael Ware, The Courier-Mail Thursday 28th January 1999

Controversial One Nation MP Jack Paff's latest claims that police found a television station had fabricated video evidence against him appear to have been contradicted - by the police.

And the former police officer got little help from his parliamentary leader Bill Feldman, also an ex-policeman, who said former police officers often told "whoppers".

The One Nation leader said Mr Paff had told him many "war stories" but he "chose not to be part of that conversation".

"Why? Because it's easy to tell whoppers when old police get together and talk, and that's what they are, old whoppers," he said.

Mr Paff is facing expulsion from a parliamentary committee over his falsified claim that senior police tortured a suspect to obtain a confession.

In a document headed "Red light fabrication", Mr Paff this week claimed police had discovered Channel 10 had doctored images of what had appeared to be his car running a red light outside Parliament House.

Comment: Anyone who viewed the Channel 10 footage on Thursday morning 28th January 1999 would have seen a five second gap between a red light "appearing" facing a car turning against it - and the continuing footage showing the light (in normal speed) facing oncoming traffic still being red. (ie There was at least 5 seconds while both sets of traffic lights were red).

This is quite simply fabrication of the video footage because when lights change they do so within a second or two, but let us not let that get in the way of a typically unethical Murdoch story.

But Chief Superintendent Patrick Doonan yesterday said officers investigating Mr Paff's alleged red light running had made no conclusions whatsoever about the Channel 10 video tape.

"The fact is police did not consider the issue of the veracity of the tape," he said.

"It was not salient to the issue under investigation which was the guilt or innocence of the driver of the vehicle leaving Parliament House."

Comment: The Superintendent said that the video tape was irrelevant - he did not mention whether it was fabricated - which is the basis of the headline of this story....

Police also rejected Mr Paff's claim that he had been cleared of any wrongdoing in his bid to evade the media last week as he appeared to run the light and cut across city traffic.

Comment: Interesting that the  source and full verbal quote is not included as part of the story as it is the basis of the headline....

All television networks aired the footage of Mr Paff's departure during the furore over his self-confessed lies about senior police torturing a suspect to obtain a confession.

Channel 10 news director John Wiseman yesterday said, "We did not fabricate anything, we do not simply fabricate anything and we simply reported what we saw.

"The video speaks for itself."

Comment: Channel 10 like all other television stations in Australia are experts in fabrication and distortion - as has been proven time and again. 60 Minutes (Channel 9's self-proclaimed top rating current affairs programme) is about as ethical as Leibler working from the Australian Tax Office.

Mr Feldman was also yesterday unable to support Mr Paff's claim that his "torture" allegations had been an elaborate ruse to expose a Criminal Justice Commission leak.

Mr Feldman said Mr Paff had not told him of the plan in advance.
