GUIDE TO CLUBS FOR TRANNIES

By Michelle

These are only my own HONEST personal views, and experiences of Where to Go in a skirt as well as what I have heard from other people. The main thing is that it provides a SAFE environment for transvestites to do there "thing"

The Way Out Club, Charlies, Minories, Stepney, East London (Every Saturday £5 before 11pm, £7 after (i think) 9pm - 4am?

This is said to be London's, infact the UK's premiere nightclub for transvestites, crossdressers, transexuals and admirers. It gets an extremely mixed and diverse group of people and ages... gay men, fantastic looking transexuals, as well as the rediculous, but nobody is going to judge what you do or look like. I have seen groups of women, people come in led on a chain and whips, as well as hen parties and all felt part of the "scene", and enjoy themselves.

It has quite a large dining area for people to sit and chat and eat away from the disco area, as well as ample changing facilities, and make-up experts, and wig hire.

The dance floor normally get going by about 11:30. The music is good commercial mainly up-to-date dance chart-music with a slighlty camp edge to it, with more up-front garage music taking over for the last hour or so.

At about 1:30 am they have "cabaret", which has got to be said is normally pretty crap. A mixture of talent shows, drag artists, theatrical shows and beauty contests.

The admission price is very reasonable and drinks are about £3 a pint of beer (not that I drink pints!), which is very reasonble for a London club. Those arriving in "tranny gear" before 11pm get a free cocktail/soft drink.

It is a fairly friendly club with anything goes philosophy. I always enjoy my nights there and feel safe in the environment and free parking is not a problem.

Ronnie Stormes, Stepney, London (every Saturday)

Well, I did attempt to get there but couldn't find it... my navigational skills are poor... I will get down there soon... It is said to play better music than the Way Out Club, and is more layed back. A lot of trannies apparantly start off there before making there way down the road to the Way Out Club.

Teds Place, 305a North End Road, Fulham, London (Every Thursday)

Haven't been there, yet, but have heard good reports....

Transliving, Old Chelmsfordians, Rainsford Road, Chelmsford, Essex (4th Friday every month, 2nd Friday in December £5/£7 non members) 8pm approx. - 12pm

Blimey, just discovered that there is a tranny club at the end of my road!

The night I attended was fairly busy with lots of new people. The car park was fairly packed so parked down the lane adjacent.

The night is mainly aimed for "girls" and the ocassional brave partner, and has a very mixed age group. It has a disco that plays a large variety of music, mainly old party music, with a bit of zz top thrown in.

The bar prices are very reasonable (£2 per pint approx.). The bar closes soon after 11, and the disco finishes about 12, but it is a fairly friendly safe enviroment, dispite the lousy music.

I will create links and reviews to these and many other clubs very soon...
