"Creation And Life"

Creation is only the projection into form of that which already exists.

God became man, that man might become god.

Life is a child playing around your feet, a tool you hold firmly in your grip,
a bench you sit down upon in the evening, in your garden.

The love of posterity is the consequence of the necessity of death.
If a man were sure of living forever here, he would not care for his offspring.

We do not have a childhood of maturity, an old age:
several times during our lives we have our seasons,
but their course is not well known: it is not clearly laid out.

Life is the only art that we are required to practice without preparation,
and without being allowed the preliminary trials, the failures and botches,
that are essential for training of the beginner.

There are men here and there for whom the whole world of life is like an after
dinner cigar; easy, pleasant, empty, perhaps enlivened by some fable of strife
to be forgotten before the end is told.
