By Kansas law, all animals adopted from the Animal Shelter MUST be spayed or neutered. The new owner is required to sign a contract agreeing to have the animal sterilized within a specified time frame set at the time of the adoption. Failure to comply with this adoption contract is punishable by a $500.00 fine and six months in jail. Contracts are enforced. |
