It was Seventeen years ago while having our coffee on the terrace of our house and gazing at Mount ARTEMISIO that we decided to visit it. That's how it all started.
Then we climbed Mount Taygetus and we camped on the peak of Mount Epano Chrepa. Since then we have climbed several mountains of the peloponnese,Macedonia, Greek Mainland and Epirus, such as the Mount Olympus,Smolikas,Grammos,Giona and Vardousia, all being some of the highest mountains of Greece.We camped on the peak of Ostrakina during winter and then we had some lessons concerning specific climbing techniques on the peak of Styga,Taygetus,Ziria and Vardousia twice.We kept on trying, having the peak of
Mount Olympus as our final objective. Then as members of a climbing society called S.A.O.O, we continued climbing and crossing high mountains of Greece (such as Roumelis crossing). Then we attempted to climb Mont Blanc in the Alps twice. However, our second attempt was the successful one.
Sometime people should know that climbing is not just a simple walk in the country,but it includes long ascents on mountainous groups,easy or difficult passages and high mountains.We should not forget that climbing societies are primarily athletic associations and they do not simply consist of some people who just want to have fun for the weekend. For all the above reasons we decided to
create this site,not only to make something new but also because we believe that everybody should know what the real meaning of climbing is. In this site you will be able to find suggested routes that you can follow, the best equipment you can get while climbing, several climbing news,etc.
