| A wartime movie set in the revolution times in Thailand. The Taiwanese troops and civilians fled to Thailand and lead their lives there, however, the Thai demand them to be under their rule but the Taiwanese were against it, thus both sides were on bad terms. Ah Ding(Jimmy) who was an orphan was taken in by Lao Xie(Wu Meng Da) and cared for each other like father and son, though Ah Ding wouldn't call him 'father' but by his name. One day, they found a poor burmese woman (Rosamund Kwan) stealing their food to eat. Out of pity, they let her stay with them and she would clean their house everyday to repay them. Ah Ding tried to matchmake her and Lao Xie such as writing her a love letter without his knowledge and this created some funny moments. Soon, war between the Thai and Taiwanese refugees began. Ah Ding and Lao Xie fought together but Lao Xie was suddenly shot and fell to the ground. Ah Ding was scared that he will die and Lao Xie requested him to call him 'Father' for the first and the last time. Ah Ding fulfilled it and Lao Xie suddenly stand up. He was only shot in the arm and was still able to fight. Ah Ding was surprised and overjoyed and picked up his rifle to continue, but once he stood, a bullet went through him....... BACK |
