| 509 Pub, Not Selling Alcohol |
| Jimmy turned his hotel room into a pub, with many different types of high-tech equipment. Everytime, after filming, everyone would gather in Jimmy's room number 509. Filming in Zhe Jiang, Heng Dian, just ask any artiste, almost no one not know about '509 pub', ask again who is the owner of 509, the same answer, "Jimmy Lin!" Last year, Jimmy had spent more than 6 months in China. According to many Taiwanese artistes' experiences, without returning to Taiwan for more than 3 months, many wouldn't be able to tolerate it. Unexpectedly, not to mention that Jimmy stayed there for half a year, he was still happy being there. He said, "I really admire myself too. Actually, I'm those type who can't stay in a certain place for too long, but just force myself to adapt. I would bring along my 'box of treasures' everywhere I go." Jimmy's 'box of treasures' consists of his laptop, PDA, digital camera, video camera, projector, DVD, sound system, etc, all kinds of equipment, and making use of them to create his little pub. Once they'd finished the day's work, everyone would meet in Jimmy's '509' room. 'They come to my room to watch DVD, listen to music, play poker, eat and drink, such stuffs. As there isn't much nearby places to go to in Heng Dian, so naturally, they would meet in my room. Moreover, my room is bigger with a small living room, I'm also happy to provide it to everyone to have fun." Everything in '509 pub', you name it, you'll have it except alcohol. Jimmy said, "Everyone knows I'm bad in drinking, about half a can of beer and I can't take it. Therefore, when they come to my pub, usually it's just chit chatting, but no drinking, so 509 don't provide alcoholic drinks." From Tian Xin, Li Xiao Lu and other artistes, we found that Jimmy is a hyperactive person. Usually when working in China, it's from morning till night. But Jimmy had never complained of fatigue. After work, he can still energetically invite everyone into 509. He said laughingly, "I think sleeping is a waste of time, I like spending time with friends, with a happy atmosphere, this also enable me to maintain a happy working mood." To Jimmy, 509 pub is actually a 'small case'. "Last year's birthday, I threw a 150 people party, that was really awesome!" He said that he is the type when thinking of gathering with friends, he would think of an occasion to throw a party. The deepest impression was 2 years ago, when filming 'Bao Lian Deng', also in Heng Dian, in the lunar date 15th of 8th month, he used the occasion of the Mid-Autumn festival and held a BBQ party with a big group of people, releasing fireworks in the outdoors, having lots of fun. "About having fun with everyone, I've especially lots of ideas. It's funny, the pranks I thought of, usually won't fall on me." He said that many were afraid of going out for meals with him, especially when ordering dishes, no one would dare to order many, because if they can't finish, Jimmy would think of ideas to forfeit them and make them finish the food. Having a baby face and slightly kiddy look, he admit that he is really a bit too playful. Currently, he said, his life goals is work, friends and love; though playful, he still have to accomodate work. Like when filming in China, he isn't able to practise car racing, he had bought 4 electric scooters to accompany him, turning his room into a pub is also an ingenious idea of his. Being playful, Jimmy's mind is always maintained at an active condition, and feel that being able to enjoy and have fun is the best things in life. He said, "I intend to retire at 35, plan my own life." Other than being good in car racing, snow-skiing, diving, jet-skiing, in future, he even thought of flying a plane. Ideas of play has been turning and turning in his head. |
