This site was created in yahoo geocities free web
pages, primarily so I could tell some students about it. As half the builder
programs supplied by Yahoo were irritating or didn’t want to even load, I got
bored and just did the lot in Microsoft Word. So designed (typed) and
saved in Word, then saved again but as a “web page”. The idea was to let Word
do all the hard stuff. Who wants to learn all that tedious html nonsense
anyway?
As the rule
sets already existed in Word it took mere seconds to convert (save) them as web
pages. These are then uploaded using the Geocities file manager. This page was
typed in Word and uploaded under the name index.html so that it operated as the
main start-up page.
Norman MacKenzie, December 2006.

-In January 2007 added some sample card sets to “Black
Hat White Hat”.
-Updated 4th February 2007, adding “Dads

Black Hat White Hat - testing sought
A set of card driven
cowboy gunfight rules. Needs figures, terrain, 6 sided dice and a pack of
normal playing cards (including jokers). My own version uses extra “character”
cards, complete with digital photos of the actual figures, which are positioned
under houses. Getting to that buildings door allows a chance (use the right
cards) to get that character to join your side for the game. The more extra characters
(which include gold at the bank!) allows more action.

Untested build a modular ship and fight battles. Limit of three designs at a time and you can only change one design between games!

Away Team - Saving Lady D
A totally untried colonial
period campaign system and battle rules system using cards to populate an
otherwise empty tabletop! [Based on the Blackadder II joke about “here is
the map” –“but there’s nothing on it” –“yes just fill it in as you go”.]

Alto Commando (High Command) – Italian Ricardo Affinati
has taken these rules and expanded them to several volumes, far more than I ever
intended to do. They cover several campaigns not just North Africa, and have
some interesting free counter sheets for KISS Rommel on their site. The main
rule change is you replace one lost battalion per Army rather than per
Division. Seeing your own name on their
acknowledgements pages is cool!

That
word “free” certainly catches the eye. Superhero Pete Jones must deserve
a mention as he provides a mighty library of free rules links:
