The Blind

"One Dream - No Vision"

The Blind are a local band from South Louisiana who have played together off and on for more than 15 years. Playing a mixture of alternative power pop and rock and roll, The Blind got started around 1987. In addition to their originals, the band played covers from alot of the 80s more obscure, less "mainstream" artists, like "Jason and the Scorchers", "The Smithereens", and "Drivin N Cryin". The Blind opened up for a few South Louisiana bands, notably many opening gigs for "Dash Rip Rock" and some very early opening shows for new comers "Cowboy Mouth". The Blind started out as the power trio of Mark Simoneaux on drums, Hoyt Ledet on bass, and Chris Pizani on guitar. This incarnation of the band lasted until sometime in 1992 when the band broke up. In the late 90's they got back together and began practicing again. Practice time was grabbed when ever they could all be in the same room together as each one was busy with a full time job at this point. Sometime in 2001, the band reformed again this time as a 4 piece, with the addition of Jerry Martin on guitar. The band is writing new material and practicing again.
