| Lexi, I have no fancy poems to express the sadness I feel since you have gone. I only have what is in my heart. I miss you so very much. I miss you throwing up your arms to me when we were together. I miss your "sweetie kisses" and your wonderful hugs. I was there to watch the miracle when you arrived and feel a closeness that that only some grandparents can only dream about. I was there to hold you tight after Jesus had taken you with him. Lexi, you brought so much love to everything you touched and taught me much about this world. I have a deep sadness in my heart and the hole that was created when you left is now beginning to mend. My wonderful memories of you are patching it up. I am looking after your Mommy as best I can. We are using each other for support. She misses you so! She sleeps with your "element". These things I feel you already know. I know someday I will get to see your beautiful little face, your sweet smiles and hear your wonderful laugh once again. Oh, the joyous day that will be! For now, I must wait patiently as I have many things to do here. I love you Alexis! Your loving grandpa (This was written on November 26, 1999) |
