Welding, 101

Relying on friends to provide me with the tools I need was no way to be.  I'd been staring at the floor pans long enough and decided to go out, buy a welder and be dangerous !  I can not express how important it is to READ the instructions and READ all you can about a job before starting it.  More on that later.....

This is what we're starting with.  The right front is rusted through.  The back is just surface rust.  It will grind out.  I plan on using POR-15 primer to seal everything up AFTER the pans are replaced.

Taking it section by section.  Grind out all the rust, then prime what I've done.

The right floor pan (what's left of it)  I had no idea until I pulled the carpet out.
