It was a beautiful afternoon and Rika Nonaka stared out her bedroom window. She sighed sadly. She was dating Takato Matsuki. She didn't know exactly why she was dating him. In fact she didn't even know if she loved him. She was truly in love with Henry Wong. Takato was very sweet and all but it was Henry she wanted. Not Takato.
"Rika!" He mother called.
"Yes mom?" Rika called back dully.
"Takato is at the door."
Rika sighed and got up.

"Hey." Takato smiled kissing her lightly on the lips. "Ready?"
"Ready?" Rika questioned.
"Did you forget were suppose to go out this afternoon?" Takato asked sounding kind of hurt.
"No, No, No." Rika waved her hands in front of her face. "I'm just having an off day."
"Well its ok." Takato smiled. "Now get your jacket and lets go."
"Ok."

After they went out for lunch they went for a stroll in the park. Takato had his arm around Rika's shoulder as they walked. It was a very beautiful day indeed. So Takato wanted to be the perfect guy for Rika and not to waste such a nice day. To Takato Rika was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. (Besides from Jeri of course.) But when Jeri moved from Japan to Canada Takato gave up on her and decided to go for Rika. Rika on the other hand did like Takato but just as a friend. She didn't even know why she agreed to be Takato's girlfriend. She was very confused.
"Ri?" Takato asked kissing her cheek. "Are you okay? You seem so quiet today."
Rika forced a smile. "Yeah don't worry."
"You sure?" Takato was getting worried.
"Yeah." Rika nodded. "Really.."
"Well ok." Takato decided to drop it. "But if you ever want to talk i'm here."
"Thanks.." Rika smiled.
"Hey guys." Said a voice.
"Hey Henry." Takato smiled. "What's up?"
'Henry...' Rika looked up at him. He looked so cute! His dark blue hair, his eyes, everything about him was perfect. He was so sweet.
"Nothing much." He then looked at Rika. "Hey."
"Hey." Rika replied dully.
"Something wrong Rika?" Henry asked. "You don't seem so well. Are you sick?"
Rika shook her head. "No i'm fine..."
"You don't seem fine." Takato put a hand on her forehead. "You have a fever? You hurt anywhere?"
"Takato.." Rika pushed his hands away. "I told you i'm fine.."
Henry looked at the couple. Takato seemed so happy with Rika. But something told him Rika wasn't too happy about this relationship. He never seen Rika laugh or kiss Takato. He has seen Takato kiss HER but she hasn't kissed him. Henry just knew something was wrong.
"Well i better get going." Henry then jogged off. "Cya!"
"Bye Henry." Takato called.
'Henry....' Rika thought. 'If only you knew...'
"Shall we go hon?" Takato asked.
"........."
"Rika?"
"Oh! Yeah..."
"Great!"

Takato and Rika had been out
all day. Takato took Rika shopping and bought her a necklace, then they
went out for dinner and after that they went to the Japanese fire work
show. It was quiet a night. Takato and Rika then stood on her front porch.
"Well goodnight!" Rika was about to go inside but Takato grabbed
her arm. "Wait a minute there missy."
"Yeah?"
"Where's my goodnight kiss?"
Rika quickly kissed Takato on the cheek. "Goodnight!"
"Whoa, Whoa!" Takato grabbed her arm again. "What's your hurry?"
"What do you mean?" Rika asked nervously.
"Your seem to be in such a rush tonight. Are you sure nothing is wrong?"
"I'm sure." Rika said. "Now Takato i have to go."
"Just wait.." Takato wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her close to him.

"Takato please..." Rika said trying to get from his gasp. " I have too--"
Rika was cut off as Takato kissed her. Rika shut her eyes. When would Takato understand? Understand that she was in love with someone else? Well Rika knew sooner or later she would have to tell Takato, But he was so sweet she didn't want to break his heart.
' Takato....' Rika thought. ' How will i ever tell you....?'
Takato then finally broke the kiss. "Goodnight Rika." He whispered.
"Night.." Rika whispered back.
"I love you." Takato told her with a smile on his face.
"I-I love you too." Rika said trying not to look into his eyes. "Well night." Rika then rushed into her house.
"Weird.." Takato said to himself. "Oh well....shes a girl."

Rika fell onto her bed and sighed. She sat up and looked at the picture on her night table. It was a picture of her and Takato at her 13th birthday party. Takato had his arm around her and he looked very happy. It was just Rika who didn't seem as happy as Takato looked. Rika just looked confused, sad and angry. There was no happy feeling in there. Just confused, sad and angry.
"AH!" Rika screamed. She then
knocked down the picture of her and Takato and watch the glass break into
a million pieces.
Rika started to cry. ' Why
em i so confused?....'
"Rika!" Her mother rushed into her bedroom. "Are you ok?! I heard a--" Rika's mother stopped when she saw the broken glass on the floor beside Rika's bed. "Omg! What happened?"
"I knocked it over...i didn't mean too..." Rika lied.
"Its ok baby i will clean it up." Rika's mother then rushed out of the room to get the dust pan.
Rika sighed. ' When will this end?'
When Rika's mother came back she bent down to clean up the mess. Rika sighed and decided to ask her mother a question she wouldn't expect. "Mom...?"
"Hmmm?"
"How did you know dad was the one for you?"
As Rika thought her mother was shocked at Rika's question. "What?"
"How did you know dad was the one for you?" Rika said again.
"I didn't..." Rika's mother replied. "He was a jerk."
"Mom!.." Rika was taken back by her mother's reply. "How?"
"When he found out i was pregnant with you he left me." She replied softly. "I was wrong to love him."
"So sometimes love doesn't work out?"
Mrs. Nonaka nodded. "Yes dear...thats the way life is. You have your up's and down's."
"Oh..."
"Why? Is there a problem with your relationship with Takato?"
"No.....its fine."
"Well if you say so..." Mrs. Nonaka put the broken glass into the trash can. "If you ever wanna talk i'm here."
Rika nodded. "Thanks mom."

Henry gazed out his window. Something was bugging Rika and he wanted to find out what that was. But if she had a problem she could talk with Takato. After all he is her boyfriend. Henry sighed. He loved Rika very much. He was heart broken when he found out she was dating Takato.
'Rika...' He thought. 'If only you knew how much i love you..'
"HENWY!" His little sister came running up to him. "Henwy! Henwy!"
"What is it?"
"Time for dinnwer!"
"Ok coming."

Next morning
Friday
Rika was walking down to the
bus stop in her school uniform when she turned a corner and bumped into
someone.
"Hey watch it!" Rika yelled.
"Whoa Ri its me!"
Rika shot her eyes open and saw Takato standing before her. "T-Takato! Hey..."
"You look so cute in that uniform.." Takato smiled.
Rika blushed. "T-Thanks."
"Well i better get to school." Takato kissed her cheek. "Cya tonight hon."
Takato then walked off.
Rika sighed and started to walk away when she bumped into someone else. "Hey watch where your--...." Rika trailed off when she saw who it was. "Henry..." She whispered.
"Hey Rika." Henry smiled. "Off to school?"
"Why else would i be wearing my school uniform?"
"Good point.." Henry rubbed the back of his head. "Say...did Takato pass by here?"
Rika nodded. "Yeah why?"
"No reason." Henry shrugged. "Just wondering."
They both stood there in silence.
"Soooo......"
Soooo....?"
Both were blushing and sacred to say anything to each other.
"Well...." Rika said. "My bus is here..."
"Right...I'll cya then."
"Bye.."
"Bye." Rika got onto her bus and waved goodbye to Henry.

Lunchtime
Rika's school
"Hey Rika." Said Mika as she sat down beside Rika under the tree. "What's up?"
"Yeah Rika how's your relationship with Takato?" Asked Miko.
Rika just sighed. "Its fine."
"He's so cute." Giggled Sakura.
"Not as cute as Henry Wong!" Miko pointed out.
"totally!" Rika's friends started to laugh.
"Why aren't you dating a guy like him?" Miko asked.
"I don't know." Rika shrugged.
' Hmmm...' Mika thought. 'I have an idea...'

After school
Mika, Miko and Sakura stood in front of Henry's school waiting for him to come out. When he finally came the girls crowded around him.
"Hey your Henry right?" Miko asked.
"Yeah.." Henry nodded. "Who are you? Do you go to Rika's school?"
"Yeah." Nodded Mika. "We just wanted to ask you something."
"What?"
"Do you like Rika?" Asked Sakura.
"Like her? What do you mean.?"
"We mean..." Sakura started.
"DO YOU LOVE HER?!" The girls shouted at him.
"OW!" Henry held his head. "Geez you guys.."
"Well do you!" Miko asked getting annoyed.
"What if i do?" Henry asked. "What's it matter to you?...huh?"
"Nothing!" The girls ran off laughing. This was to perfect. Henry just stood there totally confused.
' Ok.....That was weird.' Henry just kept walking.

Rika was walking home when
she bumped into Henry on the street.
"Henry!" She blushed. "S-Sorry i didn't look where i was going."
"Its ok." Henry smiled. "No biggy..."
"Henry..."
"Hmm?"
"My friends told me that you like me....Is it true?"
Henry froze. Should he really tell her? Right here? Right now? So many things were running through his head.
"I....I...uhhh...." Henry was blushing his butt off. He didn't know if he should tell her.
"Well Henry is it?"
"Um...."
"Answer me Wong!"
"Yes its true!" He blurted out.
Rika went pale. "W-What."
"I love you..." Henry replied. "More then anything."
Rika's heart was bumping so fast. She had always wanted to hear these words coming from Henry's mouth. Now finally after all this time Henry Wong her true love has told her his feelings for her.
"Henry i...." Rika didn't know what to say. She was still surprised.
"Rika i know you love Takato but--"
"I don't..."
"What?"
"I don't love Takato.." Rika told him. "I love you."
"But Rika....how?"
"I don't know why i'm dating Takato....i guess i just didn't want to be alone....I was confused and in love with you at the time."
"Then why didn't you tell me?"
"When i saw you with Michelle i thought....." Rika trailed off. "I thought you....you......"
"No Rika! I don't love Michelle...i love you and i always have."
"Henry....."
"What do you say we go to my place and talk some more?"
"Sounds good." Rika smiled.

Henry's house...
"Where is everyone?" Rika asked sitting on the couch.
"I think their out." Henry then noticed a note on the fridge door.
Henry me and your father went to visit a sick friend.And your brother and sisters are staying with friends. Well be back tomorrow after noon. Dinner is in the oven.
"Oh well." Henry threw the note onto the floor and sat beside Rika on the couch. "Were all alone." He had a sly smile.
"Oh uhh..." Rika was blushing.
Henry moved closer to Rika and put his arm around her.
"Henry.." She whispered. "We shouldn't...."
"Come on..." He whispered as he started to kiss her neck. "You love me don't you?"
"I do but....Henry! S-Stop...please...."
"Come on..." Henry then started to un button Rika's shirt.
"Henry...." She whispered.
Then they met in a kiss that lasted forever. Henry then lowered her on the couch.

Next morning...
Rika slowly opened her eyes. She then sat up and held the blanket to her chest. She looked beside her and saw Henry still sleeping.
'What have i done?!"' Rika thought. ' I slept with Henry! Takato is going to KILL me!'
Rika then felt a warm kiss on her neck. "Morning.." Henry whispered.
Rika sighed.
"What's wrong?"
"Last night.....we shouldn't of...."
Henry sighed as well. "I know its my fault...its just i felt so close to you last night..."
"Henry did you use protection?"
"Uhh...."
"Henry?"
"No....."
"Ah!" Rika held her head. "Henry! What if i'm....."
"We don't know that! Besides never happens on the first time."
"For our sake i hope your right..."

Few weeks later....
Rika sat on the bench very nervous she was about to tell Takato something very important.
"What is it Rika? Spit it out already."
"Takato what i'm going to tell you will shock you..."
"Well what is it?"
"First promise you wont get mad."
"I promise, I promise now tell me."
"Ok." Rika took a deep breath. "Takato i'm pregnant."
"W-What...." Takato stood up looking very pale.
"I'm pregnant..." She repeated.
"Is it...."
"I don't know..."
"You don't know!? Who else have you slept with?" Takato was getting very angry. Had Rika been cheating on him?
"Henry.." She whispered.
"What?"
"HENRY!" She shouted.
"What?! You slept with Henry?! As in Henry Wong??!?" Takato yelled.
"yes!"
"WHY?!?!?!?!"
"I don't know.....i didn't mean for it to happen!"
"I cant believe you did this to me! What if your pregnant with Henry's kid!"
"Would you rather it be yours and ruin your life?" Rika glared.
"Yes!"
Rika rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Don't roll your eyes at me!" Takato shouted at her. Takato then grabbed her arm hard. "I don't want you to ever see Henry again!"
"But Takato! If he's the father of this baby i'm going to have too!!!"
"Rika i love you and i'm not letting you go!"
"Well i'm letting you go! GOODBYE!" Rika stood up and ran.
"Rika!!" Takato shouted.

Rika ran through the pouring rain crying her eyes out. How could Takato be so mean. She was the one who was going to go threw the nine months of pain and back sours. Takato wouldn't have to do anything! It was all her. This was all her fault she could of told Henry no! But did she? No! This was all her fault. Just then Rika bumped into Henry.
"Whoa! you have a habit of bumping into me don't ya?" He joked.
Rika didin't seem to find this funny. She was too busy crying.
"Rika?" Henry got worried. "What's wrong?"

Henry's place..
"Your what...?!" Henry's skin went pale.
"Pregnant..." Rika sighed. "Either yours or Takato's baby."
"When are you going to get a DNA test done?"
"Tommorow." Rika replied. "You gonna come?"
"Of course. Its the only way to be sure."
Rika smiled. ' Henry is taking this well...'

A week later
Henry had been so nervous all day. Today was the day Rika gets the DNA test back. What if Takato was the father? What if HE was the father. Either way this was going to change Rika's life.
"HENWY!" Suzy called. "Phone!"
Henry ran at the speed of light and took the phone from Suzy. "RIKA? RIKA? Is that you?!"
"Yes Henry.." Rika replied.
"Did you get the test back?"
"Yes."
"Well?"
"..........."
"Rika?"
"Your the father Henry....."
Henry nearly dropped the phone. "I'm.......the.........father?"
"Yes..."
Henry could tell by Rika's voice she was crying.
"Oh Rika don't cry!" Henry said in a soft voice. "Well get through this."
"Oh Henry!" Rika sobbed. "I ruined our lives..."
"No you didin't.....its not your fault."
"Yes it is...."
"Ri its not! It does take two to make a baby. So its my fault."
"Henry..." Rika cried. "I'm so sorry...."
"Don't be. Its going to be fine. You'll see."
"I hope so..."

"Its Henry's baby huh?" Takato asked her.
Rika nodded. "Yes...i'm sorry Takato."
"Its ok Rika. I want you to be happy...i'm sorry for yelling at you."
"Its ok Takato...we both said things we didn't mean."
Takato then pulled her into a big hug. "I'm just glad i got to show you how much i love you..."
"Takato..." She whispered.

Nine months later Rika ending up having a baby girl. They named her May. Rika and Henry's parents didn't take the news too well at first but ended up decided they could live together and raise the baby. Henry got a part time job while Rika stayed home and looked after the baby. Takato went to canada to see Jeri and some other friends. And this story tells us if you don't love someone and they ask you out. Say no. Because you will just end up hurting them more then you think.
