Jewel stood leaning against her great green, yawning absently. "Why do the eggs always decide to hatch at night Rith?" she asked her dragon, straightening herself out as the dragons around her began to thrum lowly. Because, It's more fun that way. Rith commented, her large eyes whirling with amusement. White Galleth hovered over her eggs protectively. "Dearheart, do come down. I know you don't want your babies to leave you, but you know they must!" Victoria told her dragon, trying to sooth her. She crooned, drawing back reluctantly from the eggs. There were 20 of them, and clearly one gold egg. Jewel smiled to herself as she watched the white watch over her first clutch. Soon, the crowd settled and the humming of the dragons and the eggs became almost too loud to bear. One by one the little eggs began to quiver and shake, rocking violently to escape their tiny prison They're hatching Jewel Rith told Jewel, humming loudly. "Silly dragon, I can see that!" she laughed, her eyes washing over the shinning, shimmering eggs. Not Galleth's eggs... The green began, MY Eggs! Jewel looked around, shocked at her green. "Your eggs? Rith, why didn't you tell me?! Oh shards, get the candidates for the special clutch down here! The eggs are hatching!" she yelled. Clad and several of the bronze riders disappeared into the stands, returning shortly with the five candidates from the special clutch. "Rith, you silly dragon, you did this on purpose, didn't you?" the Weyrwoman laughed, watching both the white speckled eggs, and the sparkling eggs from the white's clutch. JEWEL hummed a voice in the young Weyrwoman's head. It is Hallith Jewel, the Gold who laid te Hallow's Eve eggs. Her eggs are hatching too. With a great sign, she yelled out "Get the candidates for the Hallow's Eve Clutch! What is this, a dragon hatchling gather? Are there anymore clutches that I should know about Rith?" she asked. The greens eyes whirled amused and she answered Not that I know of. The candidates of all three clutches gathered around the quivering eggs, all ready to greet the tiny dragons. With a great CRACK, 6 hatchlings popped out of their shells at once. Surprised, the tall, young Aries yelled out, amused, "SHELL-SPLOSION!" he laughed, almost falling over, as a young bronze answered No, Egg-splosion! My name's Canarth! Surprised, Aries yelled out to the crowd, "His name is Canarth!" and lead his new friend out of the hot hatching sands. Two browns scrambled out of their way, running towards two boys at the other end of the sands. Foreng knelt down, saying to the little brown, "It's ok Nelloth, I would never leave you behind! Let's go get something to eat!" The pair walked off the sands happily as Tallen struggled vainly to get out of the way of a little green. He was smacked down to the hot sand, his leg cut deeply by the little green's claws. Are you ok? asked a voice in his head. He looked up to see a tiny brown snout in front of his face. Instantly, he wrapped his arms around the brown's neck, saying, "I am now Ranth!" Three greens strutted across the sands, letting the light shimmer off their hides. "You silly creatures!" Ritana laughed, watching the greens go. They kept walking, except one who stopped, her eyes going from a hungry red to a gentle blue. The girl bent beside her, scratching her eyeridge gently. "There, is that better Jhacath?" she smiled. The other two dragons had also found their lifebonds, and almost in unison, Rhianna shouted "Her name's Hanilith!" as Takira shouted, "Her name is Mennioth!" All three pairs walked out of the sands together. Another loud CRACK echoed through the sands, sending shivers of excitement through the crowd. This time, one of the special eggs had cracked, sending it's tiny, green and white contents tumbling forward through the sand. Cethry hurried forward, stopping the tiny little green from going any further. Without taking her eyes off the magnificent green white, she announced that her name was "Nemith!" Beyond the new pair, two more hatchlings had tumbled from their eggs, one blue and one brown. The boys gathered around them, but they bugled in their high pitched baby voices their defiance. Both blue and brown scrambled away from the circle of boys, wanting eagerly to get away from them. The blue ran head first into Lisahrn's knee, sending him to the ground and almost on top of the little blue. "You better watch where you're going Khanorth! You're going to hurt yourself if you don't!" he said, getting back up and leading his friend away. The brown was still rampaging through the sands, trying desperately to get away from the scary boys. He cried out as his wing got stuck on a ragged rock, sending tiny spurts of brown blood trickling across the sand. "Oh, Tusath! I'm so sorry dear heart, I should have gotten to you earlier! Don't worry love, we'll get this taken care of." the young Cristroga told her brown, picking it's small body off the ground and walking it out of the sands. Another quiver of excitement ran through the crowd as the gold egg began to hatch. It's shinning shell fell away as the dragon within broke free, her golden wings glistening brightly. The girls encircled her, reaching out to the little queen. She snapped for them to get back, and they all did. Except Kaytcha, who said "Now listen here! Just because you're a dragon does not mean I'm going to step back for you! even if..you...are... the most wonderful dragon alive, Quisanth! I'm sorry love!" she said, kneeling to hug her gold. The rest of the girls shrugged disappointedly. Three more dragonets broke free of their shells, two blues and a brown, and they rushed forward to the three boys standing together. Jhanak shouted out to the crowd "His name is Falth!" and nearly tripped as his new life friend head butted him gently. Talon bent to hug his brown, saying "Of course I love you Eatanth! I don't want any dragon but you!" Nuliton hugged his dragon, announcing loudly his name was "Gramolith!" They left the sands as Tenobi watched a small egg, half hidden under the sand, shake eagerly. A tiny white snout poked through, followed closely by the rest of it's tiny white body. It's wing got stuck in it's shell, and it cried out to Tenobi, who rushed to help it. "No Horeteth, just take you're time! You can make it out of that shell!" he said to the little male white. Four eggs popped open, two from the special clutch and two from the normal clutch. The largest of the four, the white bronze dragon strutted elegantly across the sands. He stopped, looking to Sauron who was staring at his feet. He rushed to meet the boy, who immediately announced "His name is Sploth!" The other dragons, both browns, rushed to their new friends. Deiran opened his arms as the little brown came forward, saying "I love you too Ghanelith! I love you a lot!" They walked happily out of the sands together, obviously mindspeaking about their great life together still to come. Makaru yelped loudly as the second little brown nudged his leg. "No Faeth! I do want you! You just scared me!" The last of the four dragons creeled out to a boy leaning against the side of the sands. Tarren smiles widely, running to meet his little white blue dragon, announcing to the crowd "His name is Zorroth!.....and he's hungry!" the crowd laughed as the pair left the sands. "Do you remember the day of your hatching?" Jewel asked her Rith, watching young Melodia whisper encouragement to the little gold white egg of the special clutch. I do. Rith told her, roaring a draconic laugh as the gold white egg popped open, sending Melodia to the ground with a yelp. It was wonderful. Rith told her friend, as Melodia Shouted, "Her name is Creesath!" Two greens broke free. The smallest of the two ran forward to Lyanley, who bent to press her cheek against her greens neck, announcing, "Her name is Fatunith!" The larger green, still confused by the crowd, creeled loudly, wrapping her thin wings over her head and dropped to the ground. Seninia ran forward, hugging the little green tightly as she unwrapped her wings from around her body. Her name is Oppeth. Seninia is mute, but she will make a wonderful dragonrider. Rith told Jewel. She nodded approvingly as the pair walked out of the sands. Hallith hummed loudly as her black and orange eggs began to crack. Sabire looked around, surprised to see the rest of the boys were all at the other end of the sands. He rushed forward, helping the little black dragon as it struggled to break free of it's egg. "C'mon Faloritoth! You can make it!" he cheered his black on, ready to catch it as he fell from his egg. The young harper Rakatif looked around nervously. He'd been to many hatchings, but never one like this! The orange egg began to hatch, then split completely down the middle, sending the tiny dragon to the ground. Rakatif ran forward, helping the little orange off of her back. "You're a silly creature Golonith! But I do love you!" Three more eggs cracked revealing the impressive dragonets. One bronze, one brown, and one brown white scrambled to the remaining boys, all very happy with their lifebonds. "His name is Keneth!" Nevin announced, leading his bronze out of the sands. "And his name is Petoriath!" Ketarional yelled, as he and his brown followed Nevin . The last boy looked a little confused, but smiled as his huge white brown ran straight to him. "His name is Vanteth!" Aelin yelled, smiling happily to his little dragon. Dorikka tumbled forward, almost crying with most of the eggs gone. She sat up as a tiny cracking was heard behind her. She turned to see a small, white hatchling, it's eyes whirling blue. She smiled from ear to ear, then said, "Oy, Cramolith, ya had me scared!" she smiled, turned to the crowd, and said loudly, "Her name is Cramolith!" Jewel breathed a sigh of relief as the pair left, and smiled at her dragon. Jewel? Rith thought. She looked at her large green quizzically. Did I mention there were more eggs? In the special clutch? she thought, thrumming deeply in her throat. "Oh no Rith.. MORE?" Jewel said, looking around wildly. All the candidates had impressed. No one was there for the little eggs! They rocked violently, pushing away the sand they had been hidden under. A very large bronze speckled one, and a tiny, little purple speckled one. They burst open at the very same time, both creeling loudly. Jewel didn't know what to do, and she looked around frantically. The crowd hushed as the large *white white bronze* (remember it's WHITE WHITE BRONZE) bolted for the stands. A boy in the crowd pushed his way through, yelling "Jaluth, I'm so sorry! I tried as hard as I could to get to you!" That is Epsilon. Rith thought to Jewel. She was still in shock at her green, wondering why on earth she didn't mention the eggs before. As Epsilon jumped down from the stands, he knocked a young girl out with him. She landed with a thud, almost on top of the tiny white purple. "No, no, it's ok Bolonith, I'm fine. Are you ok? I nearly landed on you!" And that is Talai. Jewel raised an eyebrow, looking at her green. "There aren't any more, are there Rith?" she said, laughing shakily. What a hatching... hatchings! Victoria walked up to Jewel, obviously very tired. Her white Galleth watched as her children left with their new bondmates, and Rith crooned a gentle good bye to her own. Gold Hallith joined the chorus of mother dragons, in saying good bye. What a night. What a hatching!
