Carting and Herding Anyone? Hello again Leolovers. Jennifer has just informed me of the Herding and carting events that she has organized and I will pass this along to you. Jennifer writes: .....I wanted to have a herding day out (at a place called Ewe-topia)for the Leo's sometime. The way their breed days work is you reserve the day and give them an estimated number of participants. We would have a very small number so ours would start late afternoon. We are able to use thier 4 acre off-leash field for playtime and carting demos. They also have some agility equipment too. Then each dog would get it's turn testing it's herding instincts. Gaia herds almost every Sunday and really has a lot of drive. We can also have a bar-b-que there too! So far I have only asked a few people about thier interest in such an activity, but I would love to know if more people are interested. I would love it if you would post a notice to members to find out if their is interest and how many would enjoy a day like that. I currently have about 10 interested dogs, but the place requests 30 or so. Since I am a regular they are making an exception if we do not have that many. Another neat thing is they have RV space for anyone who may wish to stay the night and herd again the next day. I also live near by and would open up my yard to anyone who wants to tent camp as oppossed to driving home. Thanks - Jen If you are interested in participating in this event, e-mail Jenifer and let her know. JenKemm@go.com |
