Terror and the war against it
What happened 9/11? It's a aquestion most people can answer without thinking too much, the version of what happened might be different depending on who you ask, but most people will give the same answer. Well, not me! 9/11 was the day I arrived in Japan to stay one year and study Japanese. There were several typhoons, so my flight from Paris was delayed 3 hours, and getting into Tokyo from the airport (a very long trip) was also some kind of a nightmare.

But to get back to the main topic on this page - 9/11 and the terror attack against the world trade center. That's what most people remember, and what people must remember!  I would like to stress,  for people who might think that I support the attack, that I under now circumstances can accept the use of terror to obtain a goal! Not in the US, not in Europe, not in Asia, NOWHERE! I can in some cases understand that people don't have many choices about what to do, but even so they must not choose terror as a way of communication.

BUT, having clearified that part, I still wonder why the US didn't understand the message that was sent to them. Obviesly something is wrong with the way the US try to "control" the rest of the world. Nobody (except maybe the Chinese) has the guts to say "NO". Most of the weak and stupid Europeans (including me) just follow along, rather than try to see the situation from a non american perspective!

It's kinda ironic. Somebody (the oh so bad islamic terrorists) attacked the USA, and how does the USA respond? by dropping bombs and kill even more INNOCENT civilians than the actual terror attack (the 9/11 that is) killed. Is that logic? if so 2+2 might equal 5! Please refer to my "
Despot" page for my opinion about mr. Bush (and I am not american, so it's not mr. president for me)

If we try to look at the world today, then there is a lot of problems, and for the first time, many americans were able to see those problems, in their own country, not just some foreign country. Usually they dont care because its too far away, this time it was too close, and now they dont care about the peopel far away. Maybe if the people in the USA started to realize that there is a world outside the USA, then we could MAYBE get some understanding for each other - but even as it might be a joke, there are people in the USA, who cares about nothing but the USA, coz they are americans. Some might try to excuse them (after all they are americans) and say they are rednecks or other kind of low life creatures, but I am afraid that they are common, and that is really scary!

To look at this war against terror from another perspective. How about stop the bombings for 1 day, save the money, and see how much first aid, medicine, food and blankets there can be bought, so we can help people in need (in need can be the Kurds, central African countries, Afghanistan, South and central America and many other people/places). If that happened those people involved wouldnt care care who helped them, but they would be less likely to use terror as a way of stating there problems (which of course wouldn't be solved with just the basic needs), and in the long run, they might even get better conditions.

However, such thinking, like helping other people and that kinda thing is bad business for the American (weapon) industry, and therefore not an option. It's much better to bomb some innocent people, and take away what ever little they have.

I feel truly sorry for those innocent people who died 9/11, but I feel just as sorry for those who died because of American bombs (including allied soldiers killed by friendly fire), but when will the US gov't ever understand,? With the present president, I guess sometime after the next millenium. Much before will be too optimistic!

This page (not this particular, but my webpage) was started on august 6.th, which is the day Hiroshima was hit by the first A bomb. When I was in Hiroshima, saw the buildings that were left, and the museum, I could nothing but feel sad about what civilized human beings can do to hurt each other. That is part of my inspiration in these pages.
