Our Trip to the Black Forest
Triberg, Germany
Rebecca and Cera in the city of Triberg.  This picture isn't very clear, but you can just make out a couple of shops that sell clocks.
Silas, Mark and Cera.  The restaurant to the left is where we had our supper that day: Zur Lilie.  The painting on the side of the building is really nice.
Here is Cera again.  As we walked up the street toward where the waterfall is, I kept seeing things I wanted to take pictures of, like this building with the Christmas scene painted on the side of it with Santa hanging off the front.  Weihnachtsland, on the front of this building, means Christmas Land.

Cera and Silas standing in front of a display of different types of clocks in the Heimat Museum in Triberg.  Some were made completely of wood.  Others were made of porcelain, metal and glass.
Silas in front of a music-playing device.  Many of the "instruments" could be played by inserting either a 50 pfenning, 1 Mark, or 2 Mark coin in the slot.  The windows and the waterfall of the mill lit up on this one.
This is also part of the Heimat Museum.  This is a reprsentation of shop that sells costumes for Fasching, a carnival holiday that occurs shortly before Lent (I think).
Mark and Silas in the city of Triberg.  These pictures didn't come out as clearly as I would have liked.  We used a roll of 400 film in the camera and I don't think it could handle it. A lot of these pictures are blurrier than usual.
Mark standing next to the Gutach stream that is part of the largest waterfall in Germany.  This is at the bottom.  We followed the trail up to the top.
Silas standing near the bottom of the waterfall.  The white that you see behind him through the trees is the waterfall.
Here I am, at the bottom of the waterfall.
Silas and Rebecca (me), with the waterfall behind us.  If you look close, you can see two bridges crossing the waterfall above.  We walked all the way up to them and even further.  The "Wasserfalle" goes over seven cascades into a romantic glen for a drop of over 500 feet.
Cera and Silas with the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) behind them.
A view of the waterfall from the second bridge.
Silas, Cera and Mark walking along Panorama Weg (Way), where the entire city of Triberg can be seen in the valley below.
Silas and Cera walking along Panorama Way.  The little dog belongs to the people walking behind them.
Here I am somewhere along Panorama Way with the city of Triberg behind me in the valley.  April, my sister, said I look like our Mom in this picture.  Yikes!  Ha ha!
Mark, Rebecca, Cera and Silas
Mark set up the camera to take this picture automatically.  That is Triberg behind us.
