HTML is nothing more than the computer language that makes the
www pages. It stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. This allows
you to connect to places within a given document, to other pages
on the website or even other pages on another website or anywhere
in the world. It lets you read a document by jumping from one
part to another according to your interests. HTML is a system of
codes that identifies the logical parts of a document, such as
headings, paragraphs, lists, and so on. The codes are refered to
as tags. The following tags identify the title of your
document. <em>This is the title of your page</em>.
The first part () identifies this as the title. Then
you have your title, what ever that would be, then the closing
tag (/TITLE>) Not all tags have to be closed, but that will be
covered later. Some tags are browser specific (viewable only by <em>Internet
Explorer</em> or <em>Netscape Navigator</em> for example). So for
your page to be viewed by the most people, you should include the
coding for all types of browsers (if possible). </p>
