~*~Campfire Breakfast~*~

1 doz. eggs
1 lb. bacon
6 medium potatoes

In a large skillet fry bacon until crisp, do not drain.
Remove bacon and fry potatoes till golden brown.
Crumble bacon on top of potatoes; add eggs and scramble
all together. The perfect campfire breakfast!

~*~Campfire Stew~*~

2 lb. ground beef
6 cans vegetable soup
2 tall cans tomatoes
1 cup rice
3 cups water
campfire pot

In bottom of pot, brown ground beef, drain off fat;
add soup, tomatoes, rice and water. Cook over campfire,
stirring occasionally. (This is better cooked the night
before and reheated the next day)

~*~Campfire Chili~*~

3 lbs. ground beef, browned and drained
2 (15 1/2 0z.) cans red kidney beans with juice
1 (46 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 small cans mushrooms with juice
3 tsp. garlic powder
2 oz. worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. kitchen bouquet
1 tsp. oregano
salt and pepperto taste
chili to your taste

Cook in an iron pot. Stir frequently. When juices
have cooked off, add another 46 oz. can of tomato
juice. Cook a bit longer. Taste, adjust seasonings
if needed. Tastes better reheated.
This can be used in burritos, or on potatoes.
Wash potatoes, foil wrap and cook in the campfire,
or on the grill or in the oven. Split and cover
with the chili and shredded cheese.

~*~Campfire Dinner Bundles~*~

1 ring kielbasa, cut into 2 inch pieces
4 potatoes, chunked or two cans whole potatoes
4 large carrots, sliced lengthwise, or 1 can carrots
1 onion quartered
1 green pepper, sliced
4 large sheets heavy duty aluminum foil

Note: Spraying foil with Pam helps keep food from sticking

On each sheet of foil, divide ingredients into portions.
Bring foil up around food and double fold. Wrap tightly.
Cook over campfire on a rack for about 30 to 45 mins.
Less time is needed if using canned veggies. Turn packages
2 or 3 times during cooking.
May also be done on a gas or charcoal grill.

~*~Complete Campfire Dinner~*~

Foil Babies:

1 medium potato, diced
1 carrot, diced
1 slice onion
Choose meat (hamburger patty
chicken leg, hot dog or sausage)

Campfire Biscuits:

2 cups flour
1/3 cup powdered milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp. shortening

Banana Boats:

1 banana
miniature marshmallows
chocolate chips

Foil Babies: Wrap all ingredients in foil,
seal tightly; put in hot coals, turning
often untill done.
Campfire biscuits: Can be mixed at home
before camp. Put in enough water to make
a stiff dough. Use some flour on campfire
stick; wrap small amount of dough around
stick. Cook over hot coals, slowly.
Banana Boats: Peel back skin; slice
lengthwise on curve about 3/4 inch deep.
With spoon, scoop out some banana to make
a trench. Fill with marshmallows and
chocolate chips; pull skin up over banana;
wrap in foil. Put in hot coals until the
marshmallows and chocolate chips melt.

~*~Campfire Pie~*~

2 (21 oz.)cans fruit pie filling
(cherry, apple or blueberry)
1 box yellow or white cake mix
Pam or cooking oil as needed

Equipment needed: Dutch oven and top,
campfire burned down to coals.
Use Pam or cooking oil to grease the
Dutch oven inside. Put fruit pie filling
in bottom of Dutch oven, then scatter
cake mix on top. Set oven on coals with
more live coals on the top. Cook 15 minutes
with very hot coals or 20 to 25 minutes
if not very hot or until the filling bubbles
and cake browns on top. Feeds about 8 hungry
cowboys or 16 not so hungry.
