One would think humans could appreciate life, but there are so many known and proven cases of the pain that humans can and will inflict on the defenseless. On this page is just one of the many cases of just how low humans will go. We are supposed to get this dog into rescue on Monday April 26, 2004. He is right now at the vet's office. Below you will see why he's at the vets office, but please grab a box of tissues as you'll need them.
As if starving to the point of being nothing but skin and bones isn't bad enough, an embedded collar had to be surgically removed from this poor boy's neck.
Please keep this 6 month old boy in your prayers while he heals. We'll have a lot of work ahead of us with him, but hopefully his true samoyed spirit will shine. At this point we're almost positive that it will shine because of two factors. First factor being samoyeds do have the tendency to bounce back and the second factor being when I was in there on Friday April 23rd....he arooo'd at me.
April 27th, We've named him Jazzy. We haven't intergrated him in with the other dogs yet because of his neck. We don't want to risk the others hurting his neck in play. This actually is a good thing because it allows time for everyone to get used to the idea of him being here and everyone can get used to each other's smell. It also allows us time to build his confidence up. We are working on getting across to him that he has no need to be searching for food because he will get food every day.
May 5th, Jazzy had his stitches removed and has gained weight. He went from 19.9 pounds to 30.8 pounds. He will get a bath this weekend and the last of his shots. He really is a sweetheart despite his puppy antics.
