Wednesday: To Yaoicon we go!

Ahhh gods, I remember going to a friend’s house because Onea-sama needed to finish my Kumagouro at her house. While her, Brooke, and other friend named Raine worked on my Kumagouro, I attacked my sleeping friend and cuddled with her (felt bad after words because I kept her up almost all night and it was a school night for her *gomen Donna-chan!*).

I then remember my Onea-sama waking me up to take me back home. It was 2:30 in the morning and I was very sleepy (Donna’s bed is meant for one person only). We were half way getting home when I remembered I left my purse (with my ID cards) at my friends house. We had to go alllll the way back to grab it (its what happens when your dead tired from the excitement of going to SF).

We went over to my mother’s house so Lizzy and Brooke could finish Kumagouro. I went to Lizzy’s room and crashed on her bed.

At 5:00 AM my sister shook me awake; I was not amused and I tried to get back to sleep but Lizzy told me no Yaoicon so I dragged myself out of bed as fast as I could. My dad met us outside my mom’s house and we packed our luggage into his car. We drove to Nanaimo Bus Depot and got onto the bus leaving for Vancouver.

We gave dad lots of hugs and kisses before we left; he was worried about letting us go on this trip since this was the first time we been out of the country without a parent.

I fell asleep on the bus but awakened shortly since the Bus Depot and the Ferries aren’t far away from each other. I was extremely nervous of getting off the bus; I am afraid of Ferries and have been since I first got on one when I was younger.

It wasn’t pleasant to me while on the Ferry. I felt sick even though I didn’t have a bit to eat for almost 20 hours. I bought myself some Archie comics to get my mind off the slight rocking of the boat. It didn’t help at first but as we reached the main land I felt a lot better and had some applesauce; dad packed us a lunch/breakfast bag so that we didn’t have to buy the disgusting ferry food.

I was so relieved when we arrived on the mainland at 8:30am. While travelling to Vancouver I listened to my MP3 player and watched the scenery of Vancouver City passing me by.

We arrived at the Vancouver Bus Depot and had to wait for a bit to catch the bus to Seattle. I actually enjoyed travelling to the states; got to see lots of views. Me, Lizzy, and Brooke didn’t do much sight seeing though because we were sleepy. Brooke and Lizzy were still trying to finish Kumagouro on the bus but stopped to get sleep.

We slept on the bus till we reached the Boarder; I wish I got some photos of it *pouts*. After we showed our ID cards as proof that we were Canadian citizens, we boarded back on the bus and headed to Seattle.

Well, when we arrived at the Seattle bus station we were starving. I can’t remember the time but it was passed lunch time. We were dying for some good food (fruit, meat, bagels, things like that) but all they had was this disgusting Travellers Grill. We decided to search around Seattle for a restaurant.

We had no luck finding one (just ran into shops were we found pop *soda pop* that we have never seen before and we bought some ofcourse because we're tourists!) and so we headed back to the Bus Station.

We had to settle with eating at the Travellers Grill and it was not great. I had a cup of noodles, Lizzy had a bagel (the person wouldn’t toast it for her), and Brooke had cereal with *cringe* milk; we are used to drinking skim milk in Canada so other kinds of milk taste nasty to us.

Well, we didn’t hear that our bus heading to Portland was being boarded. When we finally realized it (after 20 minutes) we panicked and gathered our stuff. At the entrance we ran into this really rude guy that worked at the bus depot. He wouldn’t let us through because we didn’t have baggage tags.

Assuming that he meant the tags where you have your name and address on them, we went to a booth and filled some out. When we returned to him, he yelled at us, grabbed our baggage, and dropped them near this other booth and told us to get baggage tickets.

The lady there said it would take hours to print out our tickets. It took her like 20 minutes and the bus driver was getting impatient. We finally got our tickets and boarded the bus.

I was happy I found two empty seats for myself so I could rest up again. I then fell asleep all the way to Portland.

We arrived in Portland for a dinner break and so that the Bus crew could clean and gas up the bus. We had no choice but to go to the Travellers Grill for dinner. I bought myself some french fries, Lizzy bought a grill cheese sandwich, and I cannot remember what Brooke bought.

I then got thirsty and wanted a drink. I went to this pop machine and put in coins. When I put in the right amount and pushed the button, it said to give it $1.50! I was jipped! Turns out I had to give it a dollar bill first before feeding it coins (we don't have dollar bills in Canada).

After I got my drink (some strange pop that tasted like Fresca and Sprite), we got in line to board back onto our bus. I quickly went back to the Travllers Grill to get another pop just incase. To my delight, I found a strawberry flavored pop; I love strawberries. I bought it and then boarded onto the bus.

It was a nightmare sleeping on that bus! I did get two seats to myself but my body was hurting so bad! Poor Lizzy and Brookie shared a seat and that must have been really uncomfortable. I woke up when we stopped at a conveniate store and let Brooke have my two seater. I sat with Lizzy and leaned against her to get some sleep.

I really hated sleeping on that bus, my eyes would open and closed like a lamp light. I don’t think any of us got much sleep on that bus because it was noisy and uncomfortable.

As I tried to sleep I was praying that the bus would speed up to Sacramento so that we can transfer onto our bus heading to San Francisco where comfy hotel beds awaited for our arrival.
