| I messed up when I saved his journal, and overwrote it with Bones's journal!!! AAAHHHH!!!! Anyway I'll TRY and remember what I can. Aug. 2,2003: We got Phoenix at the Hamburg Reptile Show. He's about 16" long. I tried feeding him when we got home, but he wasn't interested. Aug. 2003: He eats pretty good, but won't take frozen. I've had to feed him all live. Oct. something, 2003: I LOST HIM!!! I had him out to take pics of him. I decided to look at the ones I had already taken. I had him in one hand, and the camera in the other. While I was busy with the camera, he decided to make a "run" for it. He got behind the sofa cushion before I could grab him. I got a knife and cut holes in the back, side, and one arm of the sofa to find him, but he wasn't anywhere! I decided to put out some critter keepers with pinkies in them to try and lure him out. Week after Oct. something: He must still be in the sofa. I had put a small critter IN the sofa. Today I checked on it and it was knocked over and the pinky was gone. I got 2 more pinkies and put them in, hoping maybe he'll stay put with a fuller belly. Day after the week after Oct. something: I FOUND HIM!!! He was in the critter keeper IN the sofa. He was hiding under the paper towels I put in it. He has a few rough marks, either from being out, or a bad shed. I can't really tell which. I haven't found a shed though <shrug>. I held him over his water dish, figuring he'd be thirsty after being out so long. He drank for about 3 minutes!!! Anyway, he's BA-AACK!!! Nov. 1,2003: I remember he ate 2 live fuzzies after being out. It would've given him 3 pinks and 2 fuzzies for the week. I guess being on the run builds up an appetite ; ). Nov. 11,2003: He didn't eat this week, but he was hazed over. Nov. 15,2003: He shed last night, A perfect one peice shed!! Nov. 18,2003: He ate 2 live fuzzies today. Next week I'm going to TRY to switch him over to F/T. When I got him they told me he was taking F/T. I have yet to get him to take anything but live. Dec. 2,2003: I got him a live and a F/T this week. HE ATE BOTH!!! I think since he FINALLY took a F/T, I'll try giving him a F/T hopper mouse next week. Dec. 9,2003: Since he ate a F/T last week, I thought he'd eat more. Well, I was wrong! I got him 2 F/T hopper mice. He just ignored them. Next time, I'll try one live and one F/T again, and see how that goes. Dec. 27,2003: Well, I got him 2 hoppers. One live and one frozen. He only ate the live one. I think I'm going to just start getting him F/T from now on. I'll put him in a smaller feed tank and see if he'll take them. I have to get him switched over before the mice get to big, or they might injure him. Jan. 3,2004: This week I only got him 2 F/T hoppers. I put him in one of the smaller feed tanks and he actually ate both!!! Done with live!!! I weighed him this week, and he weighed 40 grams. Jan. 10,2004: He ate both his F/T again! I forgot to put in last week that he had a perfect shed! I ripped it getting it out of the tank though : (. Jan. 17,2004: He only ate one Hopper this week. He looks like he's starting to get some black tipping. Right now it looks like a nice even tipping, kinda neat! : ) Jan. 24,2004: He didn't eat this week. He was hazed over though.This will be his second in less than a month! I measured him at 23.25". Jan. 31,2004: He didn't eat again this week. He did shed SOMETIME. I found his shed in his hide all tied in knots! I weighed him this week, and he weighed 48 grams. Feb. 7.2004: He finally ate something this week...one hopper. Feb. 14,2004: Well, he didn't eat again. He weighed 52 grams this week. Feb. 21,2004: He ate both his hoppers this week! I weighed him again, and he actually gained 2 grams without eating! LOL March 14,2004: He didn't eat this week, but he was in shed. He weighed 70 grams. March 21,2004: He didn't eat again this week. He had a good shed, but it ripped around the water dish. He's down to 64 grams. I measured him at 25", finally broke 2 ft.! March 28,2004: He FINALLY ate one hopper! Bandit's been out doing him in feedings lately that she actually passed him in weight! He's down to 63 grams and she's at 66! April 4.2004: He ate his usual one hopper again, at least he's eating though ; ). He's up to 66 grams. Still not back to the weight he was at a month ago. April 12,2004: He's still only eating one hopper a week. He's up to 68 grams. April 22, 2004: Only one hopper AGAIN! He FINALLY got past 70 grams and is at 72. Bandit passed him again this week because of her out eating him. April 27,2004: He didn't eat anything this week. He should be do for a shed, even though he didn't look like it. He weighed 76 grams. If he keeps this up, Satin will be passing by him!! Oh, at the show, I saw one of his "brothers" frp, the same dealer. At least he looks bigger than him : ))). May 3,2004: I had him out on Saturday, and he was in shed. He didn't eat again this week because of it. I measured him today at 28.5" and he weighed 74 grams. I'm surprised he grew so much with the way he's been eating. May 5,2004: I went to check on him tonight and saw his nose poking out of the hide. It was all bright and shiny, so I know he shed, but I couldn't see it anywhere in his tank. I took his hide out and found I caught him in mid shed! I took him out so I could "help" him like I do with Champ. Wrong thing to do! He was doing fine by himself, when I helped, I ripped it 3 times!!! AAARRGGHHH!!!! Anyway, he had a would be good shed if I wasn't there to help him! LOL Hopefully now he'll start eating again!! May 10,2004: He ate one hopper this week and weighed in at just 70 grams. May 18,2004: STILL only eating one hopper at a time! Anyway, he's back up to 76 grams. May 25,2004: Well, he didn't eat this week. He finally hit 80 grams, not that he'll stay there long with not eating : \. June 2,2004: Hmmm..... some how he gained 2 grams without eating last week? He didn't eat this week either. I measured him at 28.6". Not surprising he didn't grow much with the way he's eating. I think I'm going to try giving him a few large fuzzies, or something smaller than what I've been giving him. Maybe he'll eat more consisitantly that way. June 9,2004: Well, I got him a few fuzzies this week since he seems to not want the hoppers. He took the 3 I got him AND one that Satin didn't take. That's 4 total! He weighed 78 grams. June 16,2004: He looked blue this week, but STILL took his 3 fuzzies! He weighed in at 94 grams. June 30,2004: When he shed, he ripped it all up around his climbing branch. He didn't eat last week and only weighed 86 grams this week. He did eat his 3 fuzzies again. At least now that I dropped him down in prey size, he's eating more consistently : ). July 7,2004: Well, I did measuements this week and he passed Bandit in length again! It's not by much, only a third of an inch, but he's growing ; ). She still outweighs him by almost 50 grams though! He measured at 30.1" and weighed 96 grams. He ate 2 fuzzies this week. July 15,2004: Since he seems to be growing, I decided to try moving him back up to hoppers this week. He took both of them AND one of Satin's fuzzies! He FINALLY broke 100 grams and weighed in at 104! July 21,2004: He was blue today and didn't eat. He weighed in at 118 grams. July 29, 2004: He shed today. He managed to rip the head section off though. July 30,2004: He ate one hopper this week, and weighed in at 108 grams. Aug. 10,2004: He didn't eat this week, and I can't remember if he ate last week? I GUESS he must've, because he weighed in at 114 grams. ; ) Aug. 18,2004: Since he doesn't want to take the hoppers consistently yet, I decided to get him 4 fuzzies this week. Well, he ate all 4 fuzzies PLUS one that Satin didin't eat! I measured him today at 31.3" and weighed him at 112 grams. Aug.26,2004: He only ate 2 of his fuzzies this week. But, I guess it's better than nothing ; ). He's up to 124 grams. Sept. 1,2004: He was blue today, so he didn't eat anything. He weighed in at 128 grams. Sept. 7,2004: He shed today. He had a good one piece shed :))). Sept. 8,2004: I got him some hoppers this week since he's been doing good with the fuzzies, and SHOULD be taking almost full grown adult mice! LOL He ate one of them and a live fuzzy that was too big for Sky. He weighed in at 122 grams. Sept. 15,2004: He ate only one hopper this week. At least he's SEEMS to be taking the hoppers consistantly now. He weighed in at 128 grams. Oct. 2,2004: He's still only eating one hopper/week. But at least he's over his fuzzy fixation! LOL He weighed in at 130 grams. Oct. 9,2004: Still only taking one hopper a week, but at least HE'S eating! Almost all the others seem to be slowing down already. I did measurements this week and he's up to 32.2" and weighed in at 142 grams. He's catching back up to Bandit again, but then again, she SHRANK almost 2 inches this measurement! LOL Oct. 19,2004: He surprised me today!!! He was in full blue, and he STILL ate!! He took 2 hoppers, and weighed in at 146 grams. With Bandit not eating lately, he's starting to catch back up to her in weight! Oct. 25,2004: He had a good one piece shed today. He didn't rip it either!!! : ))) Oct. 27,2004: He really seems to like the hoppers now! He took 4 this week! 2 of his, and 2 Satin didn't eat. He weighed in at 150 grams. |
