Aug. 12,2004: He FINALLY shed!!! He ripped it to pieces, but he did it ALL on his own this time!! :)))
Aug. 19,2004: Since Bones hasn't been eating lately, Champ has been my "clean up" snake. He doing a fine job too! He ate his and Bones weanling rats. That's 4 all together! I measuered him today, and he's up to 44.6" and weighs 434 grams!
Aug. 26.2004: He didn't do his job this week! He ate only one weanling rat, but weighed in at a whopping 480 this week!! He doesn't LOOK like he's putting on that much girth yet, so it must be going to growth. He did grow 4.7" since his last measurement last week. :)))
Sept. 4,2004: I left him in his feed tank a bit longer this week, because I had to do something else while he was in there. Anyway, he had only eaten one mouse. When I went to pick him up, he turned and struck at me!! First time he's done THAT in awhile! I figured he must still be hungry, and grabbed one of the rats by the tail and moved it around in front of him. It took 5 strikes, but he FINALLY got it and wrapped it up! I guess he just wants to hunt every now and again ; ). He weighed in at 496 grams this week. Almost a half kilo!!!
Sept. 11,2004: Well, he didn't eat this week, because he's hazed over. He also broke a half kilo by 29 grams and is now at 529!!! Problem is, he didn't eat so he'll probably loose most of it.
Sept. 16,2004: He shed today. He ALMOST had a complete shed BY HIMSELF! LOL He still had the chin section on, so I had to help it off for him. He's getting there!! LOL
Sept. 17,2004: He ate one adult mouse, and is back down to 510 grams.
Oct. 3,2004: He ate 2 rats and is back up to 531 grams.
Oct. 9,2004: He ate 2 mice this week and topped the scale at 557 grams! I did measurements this week and he measured in at 46.8"". Just 1.2" to go for 4 ft!!! I think I have to get a bit higher watt bulb for his tank. It's been getting a bit cooler around here and his enclosure is topping out at only 80-82 degrees.
Oct.19,2004: He was hazed over this week and didn't eat anything. He did weigh in at 595 grams. They never fail me! Whenever it seems they're going to break through the next "benchmark", they go into shed and refuse to eat! Then they wind up loosing weight and I have to wait for them to gain it back again, then get past the next mark. LOL
Oct. 24,2004: He started shedding today, but only shed off his head section again! I'll give him a little time to see if he'll finish himself.
Oct. 26,2004: Well, I gave him 2 days to finish up his shed, and he STILL only had the head section off. (wonder why my son refers to him as the dumb one?). Anyway, I gave him a bath today to get the rest off. Maybe he just missed bath time? LOL
Oct. 27,2004: He ate 2 weanling rats and 2 left over hopper mice from the little ones. He lost quite a bit of weight this shed. He's back down to 564 grams.
Nov. 4,2004: He ate 2 weanling rats this week, and weighed in at 585 grams.
Nov. 13,2004: He ate 3 mice and weighed in at 614 grams. I measured him this week at 48.1"! He hit 4 ft!!!
Nov. 21,2004: Boy he put a lot of weight on this week! He's up to 656 grams! Of course, he's hazed over again and didn't eat! : P
Dec. 12,2004: I got behind with the holidays and missed a feeding, and forgot to write how his shed went? I guess it was his typical shed though : P.He did eat 2 rats this week, but because of the scale problems, he only weighed 420 grams?
Dec. 18,2004: I didn't bother weighing him this week because of the problems with the scale, but he was hazed over again. He didn't eat this week because of it.
Dec. 29,2004: He started shedding 2 days ago, and as usual, stopped with his head section. I gave him a bath today to get the rest off.
Jan. 1,2005: He didn't look like he was going to eat today, so I tried teasing him by moving the mouse around in front of him. He went to strike at the mouse (I hope LOL) and grabbed onto my finger instead! He released right away, but he still drew a bit of blood :'( . He wound up eating the mouse AND 2 rat weanlings!
Jan. 20,2005: He hasn't been eating lately, and still didn't eat this week, but he looked hazed over. I did measurements today, and he's up to 49.3"!
Feb. 3,2005: He FINALLY ate something!! He ate 2 small rats and Raven's mouse.
Feb. 12,2005: He ate 2 rats this week.
Feb. 27,2005: He didn't eat this week, but he was in shed. He weighed 680 grams.
March 5,2005: He did his USUAL shed today. Stopped after he shed his head section off. I even had a wet rag and been misting him to TRY and help him with a full shed. Nope, still didn't work. I had to give him a bath again to finish the shed.
March 8,2005: He ate 2 half growns the little ones didn't eat, and 1 weanling rat. I weighed him in at 685 grams.
