Honesty

Honesty is the best morality. Most people say that people must be moral like a story, ¡°The Shepherd¡¯s Boy¡±. The story teaches us the importance of honesty and necessity of lie. Today, however, honesty is not the best policy; sometimes we need lies. Honesty usually hurts other person¡¯s feeling, and makes other person miss the goal.

If there is no lie, probably there are some people who get hurt. When I was young, I thought honest is the best, so I called my friend ¡®pig¡¯. However, my friend was injured because of honesty, and finally got angry. Actually, I did not know the reason that she was angry, but now I can know. I should not call her ¡®pig¡¯ though I thought her a pig. As I was so honest, other person got hurt.

People need to hide truth, as people need. There are many people who have serious disease. When those kinds of people¡¯s family heard about the disease, families do not want to tell to patients because of distractions. If patients heard about the disease, they do not want live anymore and cannot have any hope. Therefore, for the better results, families usually do not tell the truth for patients. In other words, honesty causes people to be concerned. Thus, it can block other person¡¯s goal.

Honesty is important. Lying person usually brings terrible result like ¡°a shepherd. Sometimes, however, people need to lie. If everyone do not lie and always tell the truth, the world will be guileless. Therefore, we need both honesty and lie. In my point of view, honesty is a good policy, but not the best policy.
