Thanks for visiting my page. My prayer for all who visit here is that you may truly know ..."how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ...and that this love surpasses knowledge." (Eph 3:17-19)
    Wastelands and Loneliness
                    By Kim

Her mind flashes in and out,
Reality at whim takes flight.
Once strong and sure and full of zest,
Now a wasteland filled with loneliness.

Little memories pervaded by grief,
Happiness stolen by a subtle thief, Darkness engulfs her day after day,
Lots are cast, falling where they may.

Alone at night, fear grips her soul,
Death dances 'round her, taking its toll.
Her visitors are far and few,
The human touch, she can't renew.

Fighting slumber as night prevails,
Soulfully praying as her body fails.
Taunted by what could have beens,
Much too weary, she finally gives in.

This is a poem about "Stephanie", who was in the last stages of AIDS. Stephanie had been a prostitute and a drug addict. Each time I would visit her, I witnessed the progression of the disease that consumed her. She was in a group home for the homeless or indigent. This "home" would be the ultimate nightmare for anyone. In the end, Stephanie had seemed to give up. The staff reminded her daily that she was dying. Urine permeated the halls. She was heavily medicated and wheelchair bound. She had succumbed to her environment. She was to die a year after this was written. She developed a very rare type of pneumonia that the doctors were unable to treat successfully. Stephanie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior before she died and knew that He would be waiting for her with open arms as she made her final journey to Heaven!

?????? A QUESTION FOR YOU ??????

Perhaps you have heard this before. "I'm a good person. I've lived my life being good to others." That's not what the bible says though. The bible says, "...there are none righteous, no not one." Everyone has fallen short. Everyone has sinned. He who says he has not sinned is deceiving himself. We have two choices; accept Christ and what He did for us on the cross or reject Christ. If we accept Christ into our hearts and acknowledge that we have sinned, He is faithful to forgive us. We are eternal beings. We will either spend eternity in Heaven or eternity in Hell. By accepting the atonement of the cross, we are promised eternity with Him. If we choose to reject Him, then we spend eternity in Hell. What will you decide? (See Romans 10:9)
If you were to die tomorrow, where would you spend eternity? Church attendance or membership can't save you...good deeds or works can't save you. Many people have religiously attended church all their lives; yet do not have a personal relationship with the Lord. The bible says that on the Day of Judgement, many will say to Jesus, "Lord, Lord" ...but He will say, "Depart from me...I never knew you!" But, you can be sure of your eternal destiny. It is just a heartfelt prayer away.

If you want to be sure of your destiny, pray this prayer.

Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the grave. I invite You into my heart and receive You right now. Thank You for Your forgiveness. Thank You for a new life starting today. Help me be what You want me to be and to live my life as You would want me to. Amen!
