Living with Manic Depression and Panic Disorder

My name is Kimberly Rogers. I am 30 years old. I have been dealing with Manic Depression and Panic Disorder since 1989. The past 7 years have been very hard for me to handle. It is hard enough for a person to have one mental illness, but 3 mental illnesses is devasting. I also have agoriphiba which means a person is afraid to do or go anywhere that will cause a panic attack. For example: to grocery stores, any crowded place that I feel I can not get away from should I start to go into a panic attack. This causes a person to become disabled because they can not function outside of their home.

My panic attacks are so massive that I pass out from them. Recently, I had a massive panic attack. I passed out three times and broke my right foot. As far as the Manic Depression goes. That is something that is hard to deal with also. Some days I'm on the Manic side of it. But most days I'm on the depressive side of the Manic Depression. My manic depression is so severe that my doctor's can't figure out how to stabilize myself. I never know what kind of mood I will be in from one day to the next.

I must add that I am a patient and not a doctor or psychiatricst. I've done research on all of my disorders. A good place for you to begin your own research is at RX. I will list other websites that you can go to for help and answers. This site can give you information on your illnesses and medications you are on and is a great source of information. You can also go to Mental Health.ONe way to help you deal with your disorders is so start keeping a mood journal which is something I do very often. Writing down your emotions and/or anger helps you get rid of the stress, but it can also calm down your disorders.

What this Website offers to you

This website offers confidence. No one should talk about their penpal buddies on this site to anyone. Remember you have some people out there who are embarrased about their conditions. If they confide in you then you should keep it to yourself. It is hard for people with mental disabilities to talk about their problems especially if they are new to them. This website concentrates on information about mental illnesses.
