The Kabaddi Association of Malaysia (KAM) is a duly registered governing body for the sport in Malaysia.
It is registered under the Sports Development Act 1997 as of Oct 2, 2000.
The Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation admitted KAM as an affiliate on Oct 11, 2000.
The KAM was accepted as an affiliate of the Olympic Council of Malaysia as of Jan 1, 2001.
The KAM endeavors to promote the game in a systematic way in Malaysia.
To introduce young people to basic kabaddi activities at the grassroot level To introduce substantial and quality kabaddi programme at club, state and national levels To prepare a strong team for the 2002 and 2006 Asian Games; 2002 World Cup, 2003 and 2005 Asian Championships. To ensure that kabaddi is included at the MSSM, Sukma and SEA Games To ensure optimum use of resources To promote quality kabaddi coaching To promote quality kabaddi umpiring To enhance co-operation between the kabaddi associations at national, state and clubs with the relevant sports bodies and education departments
