One of the Local QRPer came racing up the hill the other day, this one with a page torn out of the newspaper, clutched tightly in his fist. "I found it! I found it! 5A1A counts! I've got a new one!" We were somewhat confused because it's wasn't the DXCC desk's style to be putting accreditation in local newspapers. However, we were a bit curious what the QRPer was getting at. "What did you find? When did they announce that 5A1A counts?", we asked, not sure we wanted to here the answer.
"What is it that was holding up credit for the 5A1A operation?", the QRPer shouted, staring at us with his beady little eyes. We had to think for a moment, then we replied, "Well, they weren't to clear on exactly what the hold up was, just that they needed further documentation." "Exactly", the QRPer replied, "further documentation! Well here it is buster! See this ad for owning your own fast-food franchise? And see what you have to do? They say to write to this box number in Oakland and they'll send you further documentation! I just sent off for it and as soon as it arrives, I'm going to send it to the DXCC desk and then they will count 5A1A!" And with that he was off down the hill, waving his piece of newspaper and heading for the DX club.
Son of a Gun! Some things defy explanation. We report them as we see them, but this was one even Bill or Martti would have trouble explaining! DX IS!
