PROFICIENCY BADGES
Safety First Badge

A)
Description

The Safety First Badge is made of metal and is of circular shape with a diameter of 3 cm. It consists of a green cross, encircled by a red band, in the centre against a white background with the words " NPCC PROFICIENCY BADGE - SAFETY FIRST " around it.

B)
Positioning

This Badge will be worn directly above the left pocket of your shirt.

C)
Qualifying Requirements

This badge may be awarded to a cadet of any level who has passed the following writtrn test and practical work conducted annually at Unit level.

                              i.
Written Test on the following

                                 1) Highway code
                                 2) Road Traffic Signs
                                 3) Bicycle Rules
                                 4) Pedestrian Crossing Rules
                                 5) Safety First on the road, in school and at home

                             ii.
Practical Work

                                 1) Assisting pedstrians to cross roads safely
                                 2) Successfully completed the course for Marshals for Traffic Games conducted by the Traffic Police
                                 3) Perform one duty as Marshal at the Traffic Games


Campcraft Badge

A)
Description

The Campcraft Badge is made of metal and is of circular shape with a diameter of 3 cm. It consists of a green tent with a blue flag on the extended upright pole against a yellow background with the words " NPCC PROFICIENCY BADGE - CAMPCRAFT BADGE " encircling it.

B)
Positioning

This badge will be worn directly above the left pocket of your shirt and will take precedence over the Safety First Badge.

C)
Qualifying Requirements

This badge may be awarded to a cadet of any level who has passed the following tests conducted twice a year in March and September at Unit level:-

                              i.
Be able to tie the following knots

                                1) Reef Knot
                                2) Sheet Bend
                                3) Clove Hitch
                                4) Round Turn and Two half Hitches
                                5) Figure of Eight
                                6) Sheep Shank
                                7) Bowline

                             ii. Know all the Parts of a Four Man Tent

                            iii. Know all the 8 points of a compass

                            iv.
Be able to :-

                                1) Light a small fire using only sticks and dry leaves as fuel with only 2 match sticks
                                2) Boil a small tin of water
                                3) Treat cuts, scratches, burns or scalds and dress a minor wound
                                4) Treat someone suffering from shock


Drill Badge

                             A) 3rd Class ( Green Background )
                             B) 2nd Class ( Yellow Background )
                             C) 1st Class ( Red Background )

A)
Description

This Drill Badge is made of metal and is of a circular shape with a diameter of 3 cm. It consists of crossed black batons in the centre against a green backround (3rd Class), yellow background (2nd Class) or red background (1st Class) with the words " NPCC PROFICIENCY BADGE - DRILL " around it.

B)
Positioning

This badge will be worn centrally on the left sleeve, approximately three centimetre below the Unit Formation Sign.

Third Class Badge ( Green Background )

                    This badge may be awarded to a cadet of any level who is smart in turn-out and bearing and who has passed the following tests
                     conducted twice a year in March and September at Unit level:-

                     i.
Has knowledge of and is able to take a squad in the following basic footdrill :-
                       
                        1) Standeasy (Rehatkan Diri)
                        2) Stand at easy (Senang Diri)
                        3) Attention (Sedia)
                        4) Left, Right and About Turn (Static)

                            (Cepat Jalan, Berhenti, Ke belakang pusing)
                        7) Qucik Mark Time from Halt and Forward

Second Class Badge ( Yellow Background )

                     This badge may be awarded to a cadet who is already the holder of the 3rd Class badge and who had passed the following tests
                      conducted twice a year in March and September at Unit level :-

                    i.
Has knowledge of and is able to take a Squad in the following :-
                      
                       1) Form 2 and 3 ranks (Jadikan 2/3 barisan)
                       2) Left / Right turn on the march
                           (Ke-kiri / kanan pusing masa berjalan)
                       3) Slow march (Jalan perlahan)
                       4) Slow Mark Time from Halt and forward
                           (Hentak kaki perlahan, maju)
                       5) Change from slow to quick time and back to slow
                           (Tukar langkah jalan cepat/perlahan)
