Larry Doyle

3rd Trombone

Larry Doyle is a geologist, ground water geohydrologist and head of HydroGeology International, an environmental geoscience consulting firm.  He's a 1950 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, a 1955 graduate of LSU (MS degree), and a 1958 graduate of the University of Illinois (Ph.D.).  While at  UT, Larry played trombone in the Longhorn Band, and music has been a part of his life ever since.  He has explored for ground water in Panama and Algeria, and searched for geothermal resources in the volcanic ranges of Nicaragua.  While Stateside, Larry has taught in New England and the Southeast, and has been Chairman of Geology at St. Mary's University in San Antonio.  He has provided research for many state and federal agencies, and currently volunteers with his wife Giovanna for consulting and teaching services in the developing world.  In addition to his trombone duties with the Lamplighters, Larry has also played with the Fort Sam Houston Reception Center Band, the St. Mary's University Dance Band, and the Alamo Pops Concert Band.

The Distinguished Dr. Doyle, I presume?
