My project will focus on Arthur Sze. I propose to use his poetry, in particular, "The Shapes of Leaves" from The Redshifting Web, and Personal Statement, to point out the constrictiveness of an Asian American aesthetic. My project will be divided into five sections: Biography, Analysis of "The Shapes of Leaves," Analysis of Sze's role in an Asian-American aesthetic, Bibliography, and Links.
