Aikido as practiced at Michiana Aikido Center is the fruition of twenty years of dedicated training by Shihan Jack with Professor Burdine. Professor Burdine's Aikido lineage is by way of Isao Takahashi Sensei to Koichi Tohei Sensei to O'Sensei Morihei Ueshiba.
Our Aikido style focuses on static techniques in the beginning with continued emphasis on being able to perform the "basic form" even when progressing to the "ki no negare" or flowing type of techniques. Ki tests are also given as well as a focus on proper mental extension throughout ones technique.
Falling ability cannot be overemphasized! This is the the vehicle by which we learn. In the process of feeling the teachers techniques we can begin to produce the correct feeling in our own techniques.
Remember Koichi Tohei Sensei's four basic principles: Keep one point, Extend Ki, Keep weight underside, relax completely.
Michiana Aikido Center is located just over the Indiana/ Michigan state line in Edwardsburg, Michigan.
                 Instructor:
Professor Jack Comer, Godan (fifth degree black belt).

Shihan Jack is a personal student of Professor Thomas H. Burdine, Soke of Kokon Ryu Aikido, BuJutsu Renmei of Lafayette, Indiana.
