Veterans Day
November 11th.
Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel
who died in the service of their country.
Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor
ALL those who served or are serving honorably in the military,
in wartime or peacetime,
( not only those who died).
A Complete Veterans Day History
Let us take a minute to remember all those brave men and women
of the Armed Forces,
who have have served or are serving to keep us free.
Willing to give their all
and even to die if necessary to preserve this land of liberty.
Men and women who must leave friends and family
to protect ordinary citizens like you and me.
They give up the comfort of a nice warm bed
and may not even have a roof over their head.
They sit in strange places and eat their daily ration
always on call to protect our nation.
There may not be a whole lot that we can do
But we certainly can take the time to say
THANK YOU!
Although I have never lived the military way of life,
I have great respect and admiration for those who do.
I have special feelings for our Vietnam Vets
and would like to say
We Will Never Forget You.
My fervent prayers are for World Peace.
War is evil, but inside me lies patriot pride.
I wish no country needed armed forces,
but reality cries...we need each one of you.
