It didn't matter to the boy who was to become Prometheus that his parents were criminals. It didn't matter that they had killed people in the course of their robberies. What mattered is that they were his parents, loved him and always made him the most important person in their lives. When the police finally stopped and captured them, they decided to go out with guns blazing. The shock of witnessing his parents' killing shocked the young child so much that it turned his hair white. He vowed there and then to become powerful enough to annihilate the forces of justice. Traveling the world, he picked up skills in the martial arts, weapons and the art of assasination. He ultimately went to Shamballa in Tibet to discover the ultimate knowledge and power. He found the power he had been searching for. Stealing an alien artifact, the cosmic key, he learned to create weapons and armor that allow him to duplicate the powers of the JLA. Recently, Prometheus killed a would-be hero, Retro, in order to assume his identity, infiltrate the Watchtower and kill the JLA. Prometheus' headquarters are in a dimension outside of our own that operates on different laws of reality. In this "ghost zone" he plans his next mission; building his own weapons and honing his abilities. Prometheus uses the cosmic key to absorb and duplicate the memories and abilities of other people by reducing their essence down to a small CD and then playing that information into the electromagnetic circuitry built into his costume. In this way he is a chameleon; able to blend in anywhere and strike with powers and abilities stolen from others. Prometheus' identity is unknown - in fact he could be anyone...
