Trentadue, Joe, PFC
U.S. ARMY, 27TH INFANTRY DIVISION, 105 Inf. Regt.
The story of PFC Joe
Trentadue, a young 23-yr-old
who fought for the U.S.
Army's 27th Infantry in Saipan(1944).
I
was overcome with emotion by the loss of this young man's
life,
not only because he had the same name as me,
but because I remember what I was like at 23,
and what I was doing versus what he was doing at 23 years
young.
He
missed so much! His bravery and his sacrifice obvious.
His devotion to country and freedom lead him into a battle
that cost so many of his comrades-in-arms their lives.
Below are
links to the story of the battle that wounded and finally
killed him.
and an exerpt from "The Final
Curtain"...
