I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a BA in history. I wanted to find a job in North Carolina Dpt. of Cultural Resources but I came out of college just in time to enjoy the government "freeze." So I settled down to a job in retail at Kirklands, a store in Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, NC. I then landed a full-time job at Office of the Commissioner of Banks. Now let's be honest, I tried to handle two jobs. It was nice to have a litte extra cash in the pocket, but alas, all good things come to an end and I begin to travel more and then moved out of the area so hence...bye bye Kirklands. Sniff! This creation was a combination of two classes I was taking at UNCP so this page was and is still constantly evolving. Anything else you want or need to know you can read below...I don't like repeating myself....otherwise email me but be warned.. I don't always answer strange e-mails so include something about this web page in the subject line..... okay?

Writing-I write about anything-but still suffer from never being able to finish-to date I have 25 various forms of short stories that have yet to be completed..sue me okay? I get sidetracked to easily. The stories and ideas that I post have gotten good feedback and comments so I may post some here.
Sports-I like to be a spectator-not participate ( I use to though, played county softball for two years, position: Catcher)- mainly Auzzie Football- (great grandfather played for Collingwood Magpies-at least according to my grandmother!) Wrestling- on occasion I'm a WWF fan-its so funny and entertaining! I also watch tennis-(suitemate is a tennis player), basketball (mainly college level- father's UNC and mom's NCSTATE-pretty interesting around the house when those two teams play..) I also love watching gymnastics and diving

I was suppose to have a introduction to my website so I hastily put this one together...so enjoy! "I’ve never been pegged as a good writer, at least grammatically. I personally hated every grammar class I was forced to take in my academic career. I’m better at content and style then anything else, but grammar wise, I basically suck big time. This is one of the reasons that I took this class, Advanced Composition. I thought that maybe I might improve my grasp on grammar better then ever before. That I didn't feel like arguing with my advisor over hours for this semester. That grammar wish remains to be filled right now because the class isn’t over yet. I won’t lie to you; I was overwhelmed sometimes during this class especially in the language area. I’m a history major by default, and I deal with more content then grammar and language. But I would like to think that I have improved somewhat in these areas. Regarding ideas, I found that most of the time, I struggled with ideas part of the course, it was hard to find a claim that was original or that was something I was remotely interested in. The article I wrote was for the most part very interesting to read about and write, but I don’t know about the part of the class where you have to submit it to the public light. I am a private person by nature; I don’t like people seeing my work, which is one reason why I have been reluctant to post any of my writings on my website. But who knows, stranger things have happened. In the research area of this class, I learned what a descriptive bibliography was. It is how the book looks on the outside, how many pages it has, how those pages are folded, and how the whole book and its pages are designed. I must confess I had never heard of this term before I took this class. I learned that there is a wide foundation of resources out there that can help a student with researching a topic, more then I had first originally thought. In the communication I enjoyed having my paper looked at and critiqued by my classmates, I however was not prepared for how well some of them are capable of finding little errors in my paper that I would have obviously overlooked. I can’t say I returned the favor to them since I will readily admit that my proofreading skills are weak, this class however has helped me to try to improve them somewhat. Has this class made me a better writer? Its possible, I learned so much in this class, especially about English and grammar, I must confess I never knew that those little upside down “e’” in the dictionary had a name. Go figure."

North Carolina Historic Sites. Ed. North Carolina Division of Archives and History. 7 September 2000. 6 Aug. 2000.

http://www.ah.dcr.state.nc.us/sections/hs/default.htm

This site offers an in-depth look into North Carolina's rich history. It showcases all twenty-two of North Carolina Historic Sites and provides links to each one of them. Several maps of North Carolina's regions are available, showing where each of the sites is located on each map. A special events calendar that is updated regularly for each historic site during the year is also
provided. Other links on this site lead to the home offices for North Carolina Historic Sites, North Carolina Public Information
and Resource Listings, and the Archives and History home page. It is sponsored by the State Department of Cultural Resources with the Division of North Carolina Historic Sites. Their offices are based in Raleigh, North Carolina and it is their job to take care of all of the twenty-two sites in North Carolina. This site is very informative and helpful for not only tourists who plan visits to North Carolina, but also for native North Carolinians who wish to learn more about the state they live in . The only drawback of this web site is the URL, because it has a lot of punctuation to remember to enter so be sure to check that you have the URL down to last period.
