We had to put Jenni's beloved Golden Retriever down on July 10th, 2001. I did not think it would be as tough as it was~my only spark of hope was that at that moment-there was one grand reunion of "A Girl and Her Dog". Shilo went peacefully in my arms. I held her and cried for a very long time before I would allow the burial to take place. Shilo was placed right beside "Jenni's Garden". I could just hear in my mind Jenni saying "Hi Shi-Shi" as she did whenever she walked into the house-and ruffling Shilo's back. This had to be one great day for Jenni in heaven.
At this time I have no intentions to replace Shilo-as it would be IMPOSSIBLE to replace perfection. Shilo was the best dog. Jenni enjoyed training her and showing her in 4-H. God bless you both as you wait for us at those pearly gates. |

This message came from an internet friend before Shilo had to leave. "I believe all pets go to heaven. I have even heard it said that your pets are so excited to see you that your loved ones can't get through to greet you for all your pets that want to be first in line." Wow-if this is true-Jenni look out-you will be trampled by Shilo, 2 horses, a llama, a pot belly pig, a few parakeets, a hamster, many ducks, and a slew of cats when I get to heaven!!!!!!!!!!!! |

One of my sisters was on a flight home from a family vacation-at precisely the time Shilo was leaving this world-everyone on my sister's flight was commenting on a rainbow. My sister struggled to look out and see the rainbow-and saw it. For some reason she made note of the time. When she finally arrived home, she had my message on her answering machine about Shilo-and what time the vet would be here. Now I personally no longer believe in consequences........ |
